Chocolate Treatbox by Vegan Town

When you become Vegan there are always going to be a few things you miss. For me its been diary milk chocolate, and well chocolate in general. So when VeganTown the Amazing Vegan chocolate store got in touch and asked if I would like to try one of their treat boxes I was very happy indeed.

Chocolate Treat box by Vegan Town

VeganTown is a wonderful website for the sweet toothed Vegan, Not only do they sell individual chocolates and biscuits but they also offer surprise treat boxes which can be brought as a one off or as a monthly subscription. The treat boxes cost £20 and after your first month P and P is free.

The boxes contain 10-14 treats and are  a great way to discover different brands and stock up your sweet drawer (we all have those right)

The Treatbox arrived in a brown cardboard box and was covered with hay-like an egg box which is very cute and yes funny to an egg avoiding plant eater. Instead of eggs the first layer contained chocolate hearts wrapped in gold foil. These were lovely and tasted a bit like After Eight mints.
Come to mama
Other treats inside included choc covered crunchee bites which tasted of honeycomb, Jokerz (the Vegan Snickers) a huge Vegobar and one of my absolute favourites an Anandas round up (vegan waggon wheel)

My favourite things without a doubt were the Vegan creme eggs. Sometimes you have a day that can only be made better by the perfect treat and yep this was it.

If you are a vegan who misses candy then I cant recommend Vegantown enough. If you would like to try any of their products I have a 10% off coupon code pamper10 enter it on the 'View Cart' page before checking out.

* Disclaimer I was gifted this item. My views are my own. I really, really like vegan chocolate.

Spring Florals With Simply Be

Its a beautiful (if rather breezy) day so seems like the perfect opportunity to show you the lovely frocks Simply Be sent to me and Baba for Mothers Day.
Yes I know British mothers day was a while ago but the items arrived slightly too late for the feature and then we just forgot.Busy with work (me) school (baba) Pugs (both of us)  But we are back on it and braving the chilly North Westerly winds to bust some OOTD day Mama/Daughter moves.

Spring has sprung and we are celebrating with some skater dress prettiness

I'm wearing a floral print skater dress which has rather lovely fluted sleeves (hidden here by my last season white denim jacket-I risked pneumonia if I took it off)The Oriental print of this frock really caught my eye and it feels really pretty and fresh for spring.

Baba is rockin a black and white jacquard print dress from the kids division range by Simply be and looks very cute indeed. Inspired by the Sprinkle of Glitter range she has worn it with a denim jacket and sparkly cat ears.

Its been a lovely afternoon-we have been for lunch, had a lovely walk and have felt very smart in our new outfits so thanks Simply Be.

GIVEkitchen

I have been aware of Liverpool based GIVEkitchen for a few  weeks. Friends of mine had been sharing images of delicious looking meals and screenshots of frankly awesome sounding menu choices all over facebook and I was very intrigued.

Not only was I excited that a new Vegan restaurant was opening in Liverpool I  loved the values of this enterprise. For every large plate of food purchased, a meal is given to a homeless shelter. This is such a simple yet revolutionary idea. Its Robin Hood style thinking, taking from the more affluent and giving back to the most needy. Compassionate business values-this is the future (along with children obviously,  like what Whitney said)

Compassion and ethics are all well and good but what about the food? Well the short answer is its absolutely delicious.
Before I start my food review I must tell you about the place itself. The location of GIVEkitchen is not what you might expect. Set back in a small industrial estate on Harrington road off the dock road its a bit tricky to find (follow the signs, that's my tip) but once there its beautifully presented. Low key, wooden floors, modern light fittings, mismatched chairs. It's a real boho mix of super modern and upcycled. I felt really comfortable.

Once we arrived the waiting staff were all lovely and we spent a good half hour drooling over the menu, there are some lovely choices.
We started with the BBQ Tofu skewers which were so tasty and have given me so much inspiration for summer meals. Having spied what others were eating, we could see the portion size even for the small plates was generous, so we shared one starter between us as we knew we would get desert ( we are Beedles after all)

Tofu Skewers in a sticky BBQ glaze-amazing

The drinks menu is also really extensive and offers some lovely soft drink options as well. Baba had sparkling Elderflower while me and Nicky after a long day both had an almond coffee.  For our mains I chose the super protein cheese burger with sweet potato fries. If you like diner style food without the side of cow this is a great option.

Nicky had the seasonal Italian pizza. With a thin crust and crunchy veg topping it was a very good choice indeed.

Baba decided on the Sushi. She loves vegetarian sushi anyway but it often features cream cheese so she has missed it since turning vegan. The Nori sushi had avocado and ginger in and was really good.

It was all so tasty and the presentation was lovely. This food may be organic and vegan but it looks pretty. Babas Sushi had edible flowers on, my sweet potato fries came in mini plant pots. It was all quirky and fun but with amazing service and quality food.

The absolute stars of our meals though were without doubt the deserts. My Orange Blossom rice pudding was possibly one of the nicest sweets I have ever had.

Babas chocolate and peanut butter brownie was melt in your mouth yummy and Nickys Cacao, Walnut and banana sponge was amazing.
The bill at the end was an incredibly reasonable £60 which, given that we had a few round of drinks and coffees as well as a shared starter, mains and deserts was brilliant value. I can't recommend GIVEkichen enough-beautiful food, beautiful ideals.

Eloquence Organic Skincare

As part of my more environmentally conscious approach to life I have also been looking for  organic skincare products to add to my vegan beauty cabinet. I like to change up my skincare routine a few times a year anyway so when I was asked to review the natural skin care range by  Eloquence  back in February it couldn't have come at a better time.
I hadn't heard of this luxury brand but having put the range through its paces over the last eight weeks I will definitely be adding them to my list of places to go when my skin needs a boost.

Eloquence Luxury Organic skincare

The science bit
The range contains Sachi Inchi Oil  which is a superfood from the forests of Peru. This exotic seed is an incredibly popular health food supplement and with its unique combination of Omega 3 which helps to restore the skins elasticity, Omega 6 helps to combat skin dehydration and Omega 9 helps against premature ageing by intensely nourishing and protecting the skin from environmental stress. Its perfect for skincare. All the ingredients are organic and cruelty free-disco!

I tried the four step system which comprises of a cleanser, firm and tone serum, moisturising eye gel and 24 hour repair cream and as I was sent full size products in each was able to really give them a good try.
When they arrived they were beautifully packaged and do very much live up to the luxury tag (my bathroom shelf looked very swanky) but do the creams and serums actually deliver? Here are my thoughts on each product.

Step 1-Purifying Cleanser Buy Here

The cleanser is very gentle, removing all my make up without leaving my face feeling too "squeaky" I used this morning and night with warm water and  a flannel and my skin has been pretty much blemish free.

Step 2- Firm and Tone Serum Buy here

This was definitely my favourite product from the range and one I could imagine repurchasing again and again.

I used this serum under make up (almost like a primer) and my skin felt softer and slightly firmer especially after  a few weeks.

Step 3- Firming And Moisturising Eye Gel Buy Here
Step Three-Eye Gel

I seem to permanently look knackered so was very interested to use this as it claims to target dark circles and puffiness. I definitely saw a slight improvement in my dark circles and found it worked very well if I had a few late nights on the trot to stop me looking too haggard-bravo.

Step 4- 24 Hour Cream Buy Here

This cream offers a good old hit of hydration and left my skin so soft, especially when I used it at night.

Step Four-Moisturize
As with all the other products it was lightly scented, smelling slightly of citrus and it really sank into my skin, so there was no greasy residue.

Nourishing Treatment Oil Buy Here

I'm not usually a fan of oils as my skin is on the slightly greasy side but I used this on my hair, nails and hands and it left them all super soft. Unlike other oils I have found it didn't sting even when I used it under my eyes and it had a light pleasant fragrance which didn't smell rancid or odd (yes I've had a few bad oil experiences)

Overall I thought this was a really lovely range, well priced, beautifully packaged and delivered great results.
