The devils in the details-Scarlett and Jo Lace Tunic dress

After a festive season of sparkle, glitter and shine I've found this week Im craving simplicity and have been loving this lace detail tunic by Scarlett and Jo very much indeed.

Ready for some new year fashion simplicity
I was sent it to review just before Christmas to celebrate the brands new website launch but it got slightly lost as I emersed myself in sequins and lurex. Now that I am back into life without eating  a mince pie on the hour every hour its working very hard for me indeed and deserves its moment in the wintery sun.

Its a tunic yes, but its very chic indeed

I really love the Victoriana trend which began last year and this tunic dress incorporates much of that style.
It is semi transparent, as light as a fairy wing with lace detailing on the arms and hem. Its slightly gothic but in  a very grown up sophisticated way.

Plus size victoriana with a biker girl edge
Its feels quite ethereal and yet as its all black and comes with a black slip to wear underneath is also very low key and wearable.
I have worn black leggings and my fab wide fit biker boots which seem to have become my footwear de jour this month. They are just so comfortable and yes I'm still enjoying the novelty that they fit my chunky calves.

Admiring my wide fit biker boots one more time with feeling
In terms of how the dress fits I am wearing the size 20 and it is true to size. Although the material isn't stretchy it is cut well enough that there is still room to move.
I love this tunic shape as it nips in enough to show off my figure but isn't too tight around the bust or hips.
The arms are cut in such a way that they are semi fitted which if like me you have quite big upper arms is a real treat.

I loved putting together this soft slightly girly tunic with biker boots and leggings, its turned an item which I fear with the wrong styling could look mummy or fussy into something very cool and incredibly wearable.
Who knew a tunic could look so good.
