On Saturday I attended the Clothes show for the very first time. Given that the event is only two hours away its daft I've never been before but I enjoyed it so much I will definitely go again.
I met up with my friends Em, Kim, Khila, Leah and Carly and after getting our itineraries for the day at the press/bloggers lounge we went to explore the hall.
Jazz hands
Now I did vlog all day and will include my video below so you can get more of a sense of the sheer size and scale (its big ) and needless to say it was very busy. What surprised me the most was how much of an emphasis there seemed to be on make up rather than fashion, this was great for me as you know I love my cosmetics and I spent a very happy couple of hours pursuing the Barry M, Rimmel and Models Own counters but it would have been great to see a few more clothing stands in the main hall.
That's not to say there wasn't loads of fashion to see and shows ran all day as well as Q & As with the likes of Mark Heyes so you could easily spend all day sitting and watching the catwalk if that's more of your bag.
I want unicorns on my butt
Sequins galore from brand Motel Rocks
The clothing brands that really caught my eye were Ragged Priest who had the most amazing unicorn themed jeans and tees (sadly not in plus sizes) Dreamland clothing who featured some gorgeous eighties inspired tribal prints and I loved the small ethical brand House of Bilimoria

It was fab to catch up with one of my fave brands Silly Old Seadog who have featured on here before and who were showcasing some wonderfully kitsch frocks for the festive season. I totally fell in love with a pug print frock. I think it has to be mine.

How cute is this
I had heard from other people that one of the best things about the clothes show was that the cosmetic brands did £10 goody bags which contained loads of cool products. The Barry M one was considered the best last year and this year it was brilliant. It contained a beautiful pink make up bag, lipsticks, lip glosses, some really beautiful nail varnishes including an absolute beaut called Jinglebells which I am so in love with.

Oh Barry M I love you so
This bag was everywhere
As fantastic as it was to see all the fashion and beauty the highlight of the day for me was most definitely hanging out with Kim, Em, Khila, Leah and Carly (as well as Nicky and baba naturally) they are such a good laugh and the whole day was just filled to the brim with the power of good female company.
I'm still getting the hang of this whole vlogging malarkey and did find taking photos and filming tricky at times but I'm determined to crack it and am loving this new challenge I've setmyself.
How does this work again?
So there you have it, my thoughts on this years Clothes show. Would I go again, for sure. Hopefully next year there will be more of a plus size fashion presence (I may know something about that but its too early to confirm) but overall its a great day out especially just before Christmas.
I'm doing vlogmas over on my Youtube channel-yep everyday I will be filming what I'm up to and sharing it with the world. Its a really interesting and slightly daunting experience so would love your support. Hop on over and subscribe.
