Magazine subscriptions are such a treat. No matter how tight your monthly budget may be, receiving a glossy magazine through the post never fails to cheer you up and make you feel indulgent.
Rather than opting for a magazine you can buy from the corner shop why not consider treating someone to Slink. This beautiful magazine covers all things plus size particularly fashion, beauty and lifestyle and has the most stunning fashion editorials.
Its only ten pounds for six issues at the moment so a great idea if you are working to a small budget.
Not too far from where I live there is a really magical little shop called Angellina which sells crystals. Its in a tiny place called Parkgate overlooking the marshes and their is something very special both about the shop, the owner and the crystals from there.
I own a few and they radiate such good energy I am slightly obsessed. The shop has a website and you can buy crystals including pendents for less than ten pounds.
Crystals have all kinds of properties, some are healing, some are energizing so whatever you think someone in your life needs you can match a Crystal to that. They also look incredibly pretty.
My friend Lilly brought me a beautiful Rose quartz recently and it sits on my desk (great for cancelling out all the energy spewing out from my PC) and it brings me so much pleasure, firstly because its a gift from my best friend but also because its so lovely to look at as it catches the light.

If someone in your life has had a really tough time lately and needs reminding that self care is an absolute must then a subscription to Pamper parcels is perfect.
This lovely little company do all kinds of parcels.You tell them what kind of things you like and they send a monthly box crammed full of organic treats all with the aim of encouraging pampering.
They sent me a box and it is simply wonderful. Beautiful chocolate, geranium and rose body lotion, lemon and ginger bath oil as well as a lovely to do list memo pack (I love lists and stationary so much) and a fab"inspirations and aspirations"journal.
My pamper parcel arrived on a day when I wasn't feeling that great and it really lifted me.
I ran a bath using the oil,filled out a few pages of the journal,ate some of the delicious chocolate with a cup of tea and actually I felt wonderful.
There are all kinds of themed boxes, restorative, uplifting,de-stress so whatever you think someone needs you can consider it covered.

If you look doodling fashion designs or planning your outfits these sketchbooks are perfect.
I have always been fascinated by designers sketches but they are traditionally of very tall, thin mannequins so to be able to create designs on outlines that relate to my own body shape is so uplifting.

It would be remiss of me to do a guide on gift ideas from independent designers without including Nicky Rockets.
This year we have tees-shirts, pants, beanie hats, postcard sets and canvas bags. All hand printed by us, no slave labour (except for me) and all celebrating the beauty and strength of all body shapes.
Our designs are in sizes small-5XL and we even have designs for the Starwars lover or Whovian as well as our usual B movie inspired fare.
We still have our Curvy Santa tees in all sizes so if you are wondering what to wear on the 25th, pop on over.
