With Nicky and baba on the red carpet |
We had booked into a rather eccentric boutique hotel called the Pavilion on the recommendation of the twitter hive mind and it was absolutely brilliant. It is a kitsch themed bad taste palace stuffed full of standard lamps, leopard print chairs and peacock feathers-I loved it naturally.
Strike a pose |
My outfit for the evening although originally planned as something else ended up being my beautiful Jameela Jamil leopard print maxi again with a sequin cape from the same range by my sponsors for the night Simply be
I feel absolutely amazing in this dress and having spent all week with a really nasty bout of conjunctivitis I felt kind of haggard and unglamourous so wanted to wear something I felt really good in.
Never knowingly under dressed-the brown eyed crew |
Baba also wore the same cape under a cute little black swing dress and Nicky looked very dashing indeed in a paisley shirt , blazer ,skinny fit jeans and boots all by Jacamo who very kindly offered to dress him for the night.
How dapper does Nicky Rockets look. |
The event was a living breathing testament to how fantastic plus size women look in evening wear. Here are a few of my favourite red carpet looks.
Nicky may not have won the best designer award but he definitely wins best husband awards-ahhh |
Debz picking up her best achievement award |
Team Slink-bravo |
Stunned but happy |
I was so gobsmacked and felt very, very grateful. I do feel I fly the flag for the fat, over forty brigade, so often ignored and almost invisible in most fashion campaigns so to win the fashion blog award was something very special indeed. Thank you so much to all of you who voted for me, I promise to keep on filling my little corner of cyberspace with great affordable fashion which doesn't bow down to anyone's expectation of what a certain size, shape or age should wear.
