Girls Day Out Liverpool

Last Friday me and baba celebrated the last day of the school half term by attending a rather fun event called Girls Days out at the Liverpool convention centre. The event promised a whole day of beauty, entertainment and fashion and it certainly didn't disappoint.

Lets go to Girls Day Out Liverpool
I travel to London and Manchester a lot to attend shows and events so it was such a treat to attend something only a thirty minute drive away and meant we made a real family day of it.
The event was packed with stands showcasing (and selling) clothes, make up, hair products, cakes, shoes and lots of jewelry and was absolutely heaving.

It was a beauty junkies dream. There was an Elemis Spa bus offering onsite pampering, stands doing curly blow drys even a teeth whitening stand where you could brighten your smile if you didn't mind looking slightly special for thirty minutes (I passed) Contour master classes and lots of quirky stuff like nail art kits and hair chalks.
Nothing strange about this at all

As this was  a Liverpool based fashion event it was ultra glam, false eyelashes, big hair and lots of fake bake were the order of the day so I fitted right in and it was very much a high street fashion event with brands like oasis and warehouse attending as well as lots of smaller concessions. It was all really fun with live music, a DJ and lots of people wandering around dressed as Angels (still not quite sure what that was promoting but the girls looked amazing|)

Yes this is  a giant pink sparkly shoe so yes I had to have my photo taken next to it

Amy Child's ex of  Towie was there promoting her fashion line and even had a fashion show which was a riot of sequins, body con and lace. Sadly it only goes up to a size 16 but was enjoyable to watch anyway.

One for all you Towie fans
Amy Childs showing off her collection to the press
My particular fave was a black wiggle dress with crazy witch big sleeves which Amy wore to meet the press. I just need it in size fat.

The event did have some quite bonkers elements to it, at one point I found myself taking a selfie with a very handsome Santa Claus (it was to win a night in  a hotel) the event was also sponsored by Lambrini and baileys had a stand too so there was lots of free alcohol floating around (which was no bad thing)

This was just my table

Probably the best odd thing was that Nikki Grahame who was on the 2006 series of Big brother (and who is mine and my best friend Lilly's favourite contestant ever) was there. I thinks she was repping fake bake but she was just adorable and yes even did the "who is she" sketch on camera with me. I love her (see my vlog at the end of this post for the clip-life made)

When Betty met Nikki-who is she

Clothes wise plus size wasn't that well catered for which is sadly still often the case at these events but there was a couple of stores looking after the size 14s and overs. My fave was a brand called Dolly Rockin it who sold really cute sweatshirts and dresses in bubblegum colours. They stock up to a size 28 I think-I brought a fab hot pink sweatshirt from them which I will review soon.

Loved these ladies

Overall it was a really fun day. i brought lots of bits and pieces including some pink glitter lipstick (which I plan to wear at the plus size awards) nail varnish and even a jaunty new coat for Mister Truffles.I would definitely go again, my ticket only cost £12 (it was  a wowcher deal) and that included admission, a goody bag full of cute stuff and as much pink fizz and baileys as you could shake a stick at so was great value too.

Doing his best frat pug impression.
What I wore
I kept my outfit quite casual as I knew I would be on my feet all day so wore a black tulle skirt by Martine McCucheon for fashion world, a sheer top by Live unlimited and a blazer by Yours clothing oh and my trusty Sketchers which are just so ridiculously comfortable on my little trotters.
