Plus size Payday Wishlist

Its been a long owd month and payday has finally arrived for lots of us.
Here is whats  been sitting in my virtual basket for weeks-release the kracken (or my debit card details-same thing)

Asos Cape with Raglan sleeve Buy here
October is turning out to be pretty mild which is making it still slightly too warm for full length coats. That's where capes are such a godsend and it doesn't get better than this one. There is nothing wacky about this, its simple, stylish and so fashionable. I couldn't love it more.

New Look Folk Print Kimono Buy here
Still my go to look for adding print and colour to a simple dress or trousers, I have loads of kimonos and this one with its folksy print and fringing would make a welcome addition to my collection.

Scarlett and Jo Prom dress by Yours Clothing Buy here
This dress combines all my favourite things in a party dress, velvet drama, a sweetheart neckline and a tutu style skirt, it even has sleeves. My Scarlett and Jo dresses are the best cut dresses I own so I'm super happy to see them available from Yours.

Simply Be Metallic Knit Skater Dress Buy here
This time of year is perfect for adding some copper, golds and rusts to your wardrobe and this skater dress with metallic thread running through it is simply gorgeous. Sexy fat robot love all the way.

So Fabulous patterned Coatigan Buy Here
The silhouette you get when you put a long cardigan over jeans and a top is always lovely. Its effortlessly chic and this patterned "Coatigan" by So Fabulous is just fancy enough without giving off any "wearing a carpet" vibes.

Flared Trousers with zip detail Buy Here
Black trousers with high heeled shoes is my go to look for when I want to feel stylish with a slight masculine edge and this pair is ticking all my fashion boxes. I adore the zip detail along with the high waist and wide leg. Whether teamed with a plain tee or a shirt these will see you all through winter.

M & S Revere Collar Coat Buy here
Servng Cry Baby styling for the plus size teddy girl.Finding a jacket like this in Marks and Sparks is a real treat. The soft blue is such a nice shade and the long length means this will work well with jeans or a long line skirt. Perfect.

Chunky knit striped jumper Buy here
Finding jumpers that don't make me feel frumpy can be a challenge but the French preppy style of this, along with the boat neck and great shape are tempting me in.

Jamil Jameela black sequined cape Buy here
There is nothing about this range I don't like but this has to be one of my favourites. Its a sequined cape, I need say no more.

Whatever you wear or buy have a fantastic Halloween weekend.

Check out my latest A/W Lookbook Vlog for even more plus size fashion.

A Day At Toytopia

Last weekend I spent an amazing afternoon at Toytopia. For those unfamiliar with the event ( and I was until a few months ago) it's a showcase of all the latest toys and games. Like comic con but with Lego and Aquabeads. It's fair to say baba was very excited ( in fact we all were) and on a very windy rainy afternoon we headed off to Liverpool's Convention centre ready to take in the sights and play with all the toys!

Toytopia here we come!

Yes we were rather excited
As soon as we arrived we were swept up in the excitement. Everywhere you looked was toys, flying mini drones, storm troopers and even a life size version of Dennis the Menaces bedroom. It was brilliant.

The highlight for us was definitely the Sylvanian families stand ( Baba loves the squirrels) and the ball pool full of Lego. What was lovely was that it wasn't just things to look at but it had been really well organised so there were workshops in how to draw Dennis the menace run by one of the Beano artists, there was a science station with microscopes and slides and Lego stations where you could make your own statues to be featured in the event display. We spent hours playing and drawing and really it doesn't get better than that.

is it wrong that I kind of want those yellow dungarees in my wardrobe?
Although busy it wasn't packed which made it a lovely experience and we went around the event twice to make sure we hadn't missed anything. It was such a perfect start to the half term holiday and if the event comes to your town I highly recommend it.

My only slight moan was the cost of food there was eye wateringly expensive (two coffees cost £7) and the vegetarian options were almost non existent so we ended up having a weird potato wedge butty for lack of anything else but its my own fault for being lazy and not taking a packed lunch in my usual nan type fashion.

I will do a proper outfit post of this dress as its an absolute beaut but if you fancy getting your hands on it its the Pixie scarf print dress from PinkClove worn with a faux fur gillet by Marisotta.
I also filmed a vlog of my day at Toytopia so if you want to see more take a look.

Next Plus Size

It's been quite a long time since I wore anything by Next Too often I couldn't find things in my size and then when it  was available the sizing was often a bit hit and miss. Its a shame as I always loved what I saw in the stores windows but had just somehow got out of the habit of popping in.
trying out next Plus size range

So when Next asked me to put together a  A/W look using items from their plus size range for my recent bloggers getaway weekend I was definitely intrigued to see if it had improved.
The short answer is yes and no. The sizing still disappointingly only goes up to a size 26 (and that's not in all items)  but the good news is that the cut and fit of the clothes available if you fall into those size brackets is really great.
I wanted to put together a preppy cute casual look and chose this grey graphic top featuring a "That's Life" slogan and black flippy skirt
As I more often than not now buy items online from brands that cater exclusively to plus size ranges I forget how difficult it can be to imagine how an item will look on your body shape when much slimmer models are used in the product shots and I did wonder if my choices would work but I needn't have as they were great.

The quality of both items is really lovely and the fit is perfect. I chose the size 20 in both items and they were spot on.

Thats Life

The skirt features a stretch waistband and is in a lovely thick fabric so looks quite structured. The navy and pink stripe almost has an ombre effect getting darker as it hits the hem, the top is casually baggy without feeling tent like and the logo on the front features tiny sequins giving it a slightly luxe finish which very much appeals to me.Its also quite long which I love.

I'm wearing tights and pink MaryJane shoes by Primark with sparkly ears by Crown and Glory which is about as casual as I get.
I have worn this outfit loads since it first arrived, its a perfect Saturday outfit as is ultra comfortable but doesn't look scruffy-perfect if like me you struggle with relaxed styling.
This has definitely made me reconsider Next and I will be checking out their collections with interest. I would just love to see them increase the size range as I know loads of my upper size range pals would be very happy to hand over their money if the clothes were available.

I wore this outfit on a weekend away with my beautiful blogger/vlogger freinds EmCharlKhilaNaomi and Kim
Next very kindly gave each of us an outfit. How cute are we! Check out their channels to see how they styled their choices.

Lady V Isabella dress-A review

It may be the end of British summertime but today's dress is still making me think of warm afternoons and days in the sun.

The Dusty Rose Floral Isabella dress by Lady V is the kind of frock that makes you want to drink out of china cups and cross your ankles, its so girly and yes a little bit camp too.The perfect plus size vintage inspired swing dress.

vintage inspired loveliness
Its not just the beautiful teal backdrop which makes this so cute (although look at how it makes the pink of the roses pop) its small touches like the pink edges, the detachable bow and the fabulous fit which is perfect if like me you don't have  a naturally nipped in waist but like to give that illusion anyway.

A dress so sweet only cupcakes can be eaten in it
This is part of the classic Lady Vintage range not Lady Volup and goes up to a size 30. I'm wearing the size 20 and found it to be true to size, Its a cotton Elastene mix so has a little stretch and I found it fitted really nicely, no nipping under the arms or pulling across the tummy.
The capped sleeves are great for me as I find halter necks give me neck ache and with the addition of a pink cardigan this will work just as well into winter.

Plus size retro dresses like this are just so easy to wear and you cant help but feel incredibly feminine and pretty in them. I have put my hair in a high pony with a sparkly hair clip, chucked a pair of heels and feel party ready.

Its all about the cupcakes
I wore this outfit on a weekend away with my beautiful blogger/vlogger friends EmCharlKhilaNaomi and Kim Lady V  very kindly gave each of us an outfit. How cute are we! Check out their channels to see how they styled their choices.I love how many different sizes and shapes we represent but all still look fab in exactly the same style dress.

Blogger babes in Lady Vintage
As if being sent gorgeous dresses wasn't treat enough the cake company Lilibets of Paris  who are fans of my blog sent us cakes for us to have whilst enjoying afternoon tea and they were absolutely beautiful.

Each one was individual and they were so delicate. We posed with them long enough to get a few photos and then scoffed them in about five minutes flat-they were so yummy. Thanks so much.
