Every year at around this time you may see various shootouts from plus size babes asking for advice on evening dresses, sparkly clutch bags, cocktail dress vs full length. It can only mean one thing, the British plus size awards are getting closer and one of the best excuses of the year for plus size women to get glamed up is nearly upon on.

Not only is the plus size awards a lovely twinkly red carpet event it's also an opportunity for bloggers, retailers, entertainers and movers and shakers in the plus size world to be acknowledged. Voted for by the public it's a chance to acknowledge those making a difference when so often anything involving fat people is ignored by mainstream media.
Whether it's doffing your cap to the retailer who always makes sure you can access the best fashion in your size, or giving a nod to the celebrity who you feel is repping plus size particularly well.Its a great way to spread positivity and support, oh and get to wear really sparkly clothes which is always welcome.

The event is always held at the best venues ( this year it's at the Raddsiosn Blue on Portland street London which is gorgeous) and features a three course dinner, drinks and entertainment. This year we will be treated to girl band the Honeybuns, Jazz singer Tom Steele, comedian Ashleigh Owen, even a burlesque troop.I'm particularly looking forward to seeing headline act Jess and the bandits its a really packed entertainment program and should be brilliant.

Of course there are also the awards. Hopefully this year more of the nominated brands will attend as it's always so much fun. Last year Curvy Kate swept the board and their table was hilarious-they were definitely the life and soul of the event.
