I love this dress so much I can't stop looking at it. Simple black with gold thread running through it, its everything I want in a glamorous maxi dress. It isn't over embellished or full of ruching to "hide" my tummy. its a beautiful semi fitted floor length frock that I just know would make me feel like a magnificent bitch. Perfection.

To be honest this coat had me at "Darling Christina" so reminiscent of Faye Dunaway screaming "Christina bring me the axe" in Mommy Dearest, but I digress.If it seems too early to be thinking about coats you may be reading this outside the UK because quite honestly I have been contemplating putting the heating on this week. Everything about this coat is delicious. The appliqué, the big button, the neat collar, its gorgeous and will console me as I don tights in August.

OK so this isn't a "oh my gawd that's awesome" wardrobe choice but by jingo this is going to do a lot of heavy lifting as we move from summer to autumn. Simply put when its too chilly for bare arms but wearing a coat makes you sweat this will be a life saver.

I own quite a few maxi dresses which are the same fabric and they are beautiful but you can look a bit curtainy in them. Which is why this contrast maxi with its black top and paisley skirt is so cool. Festival chic without leaving the house or having to pee in a field. bravo.
