April's Magazines Fell In Love With Plus Size

What an incredible month its been for seeing inspiring images of plus size women in glossy magazines. Nothing zany, or comical, no head to toe black or bodies hidden behind sheets or pillars, just gorgeously fat females bringing it.
Lets just take a moment to bask in how amazing these photos are.

Elle Magazine featuring Rebel Wilson
This cover made me and my friends stand up and applaud like seals when we saw it today. The second shot is just so fantastic I could cry. Rebel Wilson pulling some serious over the shoulder love my booty action.Bravo.

Tess Munster For Slink Magazine
In the same month we learnt that Tess Munster had signed to model agency Milk the digital cover of Slink magazine featured Tess as never seen before.Edgy, editorial absolutely smashing the super sharp styling by Rivkie Baum. The interview by writer Becky Barnes was also one of the best I have ever read with Tess. Really heartfelt and quite hard to read at times.

Cosmopolitan Magazine With Callie Thorpe
This month Cosmopolitan magazine will feature a multiple page spread styled by Evans clothing and featuring amongst others Plus size blogger Callie Thorpe Cosmo has always been the last place you would expect to see anyone over the age of twenty or over a dress size 10 so this is such a result. To think of younger plus size girls who may feel marginalised by the lack of representation their body shape gets,  opening this months copy and seeing examples of different shapes and sizes all looking great is really something.

Kate London James in BGP Magazine
This month BGP Magazine  devoted their centre spread to a wonderfully cool photoshoot with plus size fashion blogger Kate London James There wasn't a skater skirt in sight, the clothes were structured (mainly by Elvi) the hair and make up was fierce and it told you everything you need to know about plus size fashion right now. Simply brilliant.

We spend so much time feeling frustrated at the lack of real plus size representation in magazines and the media in general so to see women being photographed and styled like the fashion mavens they are is really heartening. Long may it continue.
