London Fashion Week: The Key Trends And Plus Size Style Steals

Over the last week London has been abuzz with all things fashion as the great and the good have gathered for London fashion week. Here are my my personal favorite to emerge on the catwalks and some cunning plus size dupes so you can inject a little high fashion styling into your wardrobe this season.

Erdem

Lets kick off with possibly my favorite collection of the week, Erdem was all faded grandeur, candy coloured shades with heirloom styling. Brocades, velvet's, frayed edged and fifties shapes. Exquisite.

Plus size Style Steal
This look is all about texture and print so look for rich opulent designs in vaguely vintage inspired cuts.

Giles

The Giles show was sinister, gothic and darkly stylish. Crisp ruffled collars and bows stopped it looking too Wednesday Adams chic and the use of ruffles and pleats gave the clothes a fabulous tailored quality.

Translating The Style
This look is pared back, chic but with a romantic almost Victorian vibe. If black is too intense go for  softer navy and if it all feels too heavy for spring swap out cottons for lace.

Burberry Prorsum
Burberry was boho chic the luxury version. Floaty fabrics, empire lines and some beautiful patchwork effect prints. This is definitely one of the more wearable trends. It has a definite sixties flower child feeling to it with the models sporting softly waved hair and sack bags.

Translating The Style
This trend is  a bit of a no brainer, especially if you are ready for softer fabrics and less structured designs going into spring. If it feels too summery right now combine it with long line cardigans and ankle boots.

Mulberry

If you are a fan of soft greys, taupes and delicate pinks then Mulberry was the show for you. A-line dresses with black leaf designs and a beautifully simple jumpsuit suggested we are in for a classic and simple 2015 where its all in the cut and colour.

Translating The Style
This is the perfect trend for embracing spring coloyurs. Think of  a Farrow and Ball paint chart and buy a few items in duck egg blue or shell pink. The jumpsuit is a real investment piece and sees no sign of falling out of fashion. Its often an item that plus size women are slightly wary of but actually suits everyone.

Topshop Unique

Topshop Unique was very English Rose with its styling. Tweedy check was the fabric de jour which was seen on pinafores and coats. Fur is as popular as ever (which is great news if like me you are not quite ready to give up your faux fur stoles) and dainty embroidered flowers on crisp white also suggested its going to be a very romantic Spring.

Translating The Style
This a great trend for getting your print on. Use a palette of soft oranges, creams and yellows and indulge in paisleys, checks and florals.
