I really enjoy indulging my love of party frocks at Christmas but I know for lots of people the idea of wearing a sequined frock or floor length gown is just too fussy, too OTT.
I'm also aware that for many of my readers the opportunity to splash out on tons of new clothes at what is already an expensive time of year just isn't there.
However with just a few accessories or a new jacket you can easily create a fab festive look with items you already have in your wardrobe.
With that in mind I thought I would show you today's outfit which I am wearing out to a Christmas lunch.
A last season jumpsuit is suddenly the perfect Christmas party outfit |
Its a low key affair, just a few drinks and a pizza at lunchtime so I have put together something which is suitably chic without being too much like the fairy on top of the Christmas tree.
My Felicity jumpsuit £19.20 is from last season and by Pink Clove, its still available and in their sale. This is such an easy piece to dress up and so comfortable.
I have teamed it with this beautiful lace jacket £40 by Pagopago which is an absolutely lovely shape. Its the perfect item if an outfit requires something slightly more special than a cardigan but a shrug or shawl would be too fussy. The combination of lace and sequins sounds gaudy but is surprisingly delicate.
I am loving this jacket-bling yes, but also wearable |
My silver glitter Graceland shoes £19.99 are by Deichmann and I have worn them so much this season.
If you struggle with heels these are great. Really comfortable, don't push your feet forward with a high enough heel to give you a bit of height and elegance but you wont fall off them.
Sparkly shoes which won't send you A over T |
My necklace is from the Millie Mackintosh collection for Dorothy Perkins. There are some lovely pieces from her and they are quite affordable. This necklace is only £16.I used to be quite snooty about celebrity collaborations with fashion brands but have seen too many nice items come from them to make the mistake of ignoring them. I may not be a massive fan of Made in Chelsea but I am a fan of this bling.
This amazing necklace was from Dotty P's |
My Vampire lip clutch £20 was a Halloween purchase from Asos which I haven't had much opportunity to use so today seemed a good day to dig it out and it adds a nice irreverence to what is quite a classic outfit.
Novelty Clutch adds a touch of humour o quite a low key outfit |
If you are having a panic about what to wear to your office party or your annual meal out with the girls see what you already have in your closet. Re purposing clothes is clever, thrifty and if its an item that you know you feel great in one less thing to worry about.
*I never lie to you dear readers the jacket was gifted for review*
