A Floral Tea dress Thats Right Up My Alley

Last month you may remember I ran a giveaway with designer discount brand Brand Alley who were introducing a plus size range onto their site.
I fell in love with this dress  £35 straight away so decided to buy it for myself.

Its by the brand Joules who I've never worn before and I was slightly hesitant because the largest size they had was an 18 (one of the problems with designer discount stores is when the sizes are gone, they are really gone so you have to be quick)  and with my rather large breasticals was concerned it wouldn't fit.
Its a perfect fit

Well whether its by virtue that I've been avoiding bread recently or the sizing being generous its a perfect fit and I couldn't be happier.
Pockets-woo hoo!
Its got a lovely 1940's shape, scoop neck, gently nipped at the waist but what is so adorable is that it features pockets (you know me I'm a real pocket lover) and the length is past the knee which on a dress in this style is perfection.

Loving the length

The colour and print is just amazing. Its very chintzy and floral and just perfect for when you want to spend the day pretending you are a domestic goddess listening to 40's big band music and drinking tea out of dainty cups.

Great colour and print

Keeping in character with the retro feel of this frock I have waved my hair and worn it slightly quiffed at the front (yes I'm getting my hair eras mixed up, sue me) I've worn it with a lovely necklace I picked up recently at Miss Selfridge and a pair of pink ballet pumps.
As I was feeling all dreamy Nicky Rockets shot some pictures of me through my floral scarf-like a chintzy version of a Vaseline blur. Love them!

  3. I love Joules clothing, it's a lovely mix of colours and styles. Their sizing is generous which is unusual for a 'designer' brand but hey I'm not complaining. I have a couple of their dresses and I find them not only flattering and beautiful but also comfortable!

You look amazing as always and I just wanted to say what an inspiration you've been to me, I have been reading your blog for a long time now and thanks to you I am finally confident enough to write this!
