Miami in the Eighties: Pink Palm trees And Grey Gardens

Neon pink with a black palm tree silhouette is one of my favorite prints. It reminds me of Miami in the eighties, rolled up jacket sleeves and espadrilles, pastel washed buildings shimmering in the sun.

Miami Nice

Which is why am loving this dress by Yours clothing so much. Its taking me to another place, another time, one I never experienced but feel I was almost there because you know I've watched Scarface and Miami vice.

This is a fairly simple tee shirt dress which looked a little "afternoon at Asda" when I first put it on but with a belt and black leggings as well as putting a pair of wingzs sleeves with it I have lifted it up from "package holiday to Benidorm" to "white lines in Miami"
Look at clothing with your own eyes-not through the brands lens

Its important not be dictated to by how an item of clothing is first presented to you. Ignore the product shot on the website, or the fashion spread in the latest magazine, look at each and every item of clothing only with your vision.
How the dress looks on the website-nice but I've put my own spin on it

Little Edie inspired headscarfery

My headscarf is from Oxfam, I spied it last week and decided it had to come home with me. I'm channeling Little Edie from Grey gardens with this get up. I'm not ashamed.
Little Edie is my style icom

Drama Queen

My necklace is from Blackheart creatives. Who wouldn't want a bright pink necklace with "Drama Queen" written on it?

My Velma sunglasses are from Bow and crossbones. The only thing that survived the fad for everything being "ombre" a few seasons ago.
I feel summery but with a dark twist. The jet black against the hot pink is very eighties, I think i will go and play Banaramas "cruel summer" now.

Love in my eyes
