A dress that's out of this world |
When Simply be announced recently that they had designed a small collection in collaboration with Look magazine I was very intrigued to see the results.
She's got the Look |
That's not the case with this range.
I adore this jacket |

The Simply be/Look magazine collection-small but perfectly formed |
It is a tiny collection but like myself it small and perfectly formed. It features some quite edgy pieces like printed jumpsuits and bomber jackets which will keep the cool fatshionistas happy but it also includes some absolute gems like a wool biker jacket which I adore and my favorite piece the Bardot Galaxy print dress £60

How the Bardot Galaxy prom dress looks on the Simply be website |
And here it is on me |
The quality as I've come to expect from Simply Be is beautiful. Its well made, nicely finished and beautifully constructed.
The length is great, as I'm quite short it hits mid calf which I love and is great news for those of you who are frankly sick of flashing your foo every time you wear a skater or prom dress sans leggings.
A prom dress in a galaxy print-bravo |
The neckline is square which is one of my favorites and it doesn't sit too low so yet again perfect if you don't want to be getting out the girls.
It has a neat waistband and the skirt section is paneled giving it a gentle flare. the material is yet again my fave elastene cotton mix which is quite thick and gives it structure.I don't own much blue in my wardrobe and the mix of dark almost black blue with white and navy tones is lush.
Nice neckline-My decolletage thanks you |
When this dress first arrived I thought about carrying through the furturistic theme with silver accessories and boots but as soon as it was on I felt so ridiculously pretty and retro I decided to channel the "Don Drapers typing pool" look. I like the contrast of space age print with retro styling. I could so easily have been cast as one of James T Kirks love interests in Star Trek (she is a round, soft creature with gravity defying hair Spock)
Working at the Mad men typing pool |
I teamed it with my polka dot pom pom shoes £15 also by Simply be these shoes are almost permanently glued to my feet at the moment.

Reach for the stars |
My bag is a bubblegum pink mock crock Kelly homage from a shop called Boutique on the wirral and my "Blighty" necklace was made by my bestie Lilly von Pink. email her if you would like one made to order.

What an amazing print |
I've thrown my hair into a beehive with a few little flowers and smeared on copious amounts of Lime Crimes Great Pink Planet on my mush.
just call me Mrs Pollock |
If you have been swooning over galaxy prints but have been unsure how to wear them this frock is perfect. The print is an absolute dream, half star burst, half paint splatter. If Jackson Pollock had a wife she would have worn this I'm sure
And as if that isn't enough fabulousness here is one of my latest outfit post videos
