Fat Florals,Lacy Leggings And A Bit Of A Do

Its time for Florals ladies

Last week I was very kindly asked along to the Taking Shape Summer Look Book event at their Liverpool store. I had agreed to model for it but was then asked if I would compare and having felt a bit nervous absolutely loved it.
The looks being showcased were all from the new season  trends and the idea was to provide some summer holiday inspiration,
My favorite pieces were the Yvette Trousers £25 which are gently tapered and I could imagine looking very Audrey Hepburn with a striped top and ballet pumps
The Yvette trouser

The Tribal dress £55 which totally reminded me of the African inspired prints bands like the belle stars and bannarama wore back in the eighties-I would wear this with  a pineapple topknot and a pair of converse.
Ignore the styling of this model-this dress is amazing

The Vice Versa trousers £39 which would look quite amazing with a plain black vest and leather jacket
No to the beige shoes but yes, yes ,yes to this print

and my favorite item of the night the Rose etching tunic (which I wore as a dress) £55

Teamed with these rather fab Sphere leggings £25

Florals are everywhere this season and I've been looking for ways to incorporate them into my wardrobe without looking like a curtain. This pale rose print tunic is perfect.
The rose etching tunic worn with the sphere leggings

This is a proper tunic length so on me (five foot three) it has worked beautifully as  a dress. It has a saucy split up the side which meant I needed leggings with it so when I saw these lacey style sphere ones I decided they were perfect.

I'm really loving these Sphere leggings

As you can see from these pictures the Rose Etching tunic is fairly clingy so if you are self conscious about showing off your rolls you might want to size up as it does come up on the slightly small side for Taking Shape.

This dress does cling but its so pretty I just don't care
As always with taking Shape its all about the details. The quality of the stitching and finish is really high and I really like the pearl embellishment on the sweetheart neckline and on the cuffs.

What  a great way to wear this seasons florals
The fashion show was great fun. I love that Taking Shape got women who actually shop with the brand to act as models as it really helped showcase what the clothes look like on those of us who are less Amazonian.

This dress was a definite hit on the night

Paula who is the Liverpool Branches stylist has such  a great eye for putting together outfits which are both stylish but also quite daring and I loved how all the ladies looked.

Baba came along too-she may have been slightly overexcited
Doing my compare shiz

I know I sound like a bit of  a broken record but I do think Taking Shape is viewed as being slightly middle aged and I always find such gems when I go into their stores.
One day I would love to see the brand do a blogger shoot showcasing the edgier pieces from the range and with not a court shoe or long scarf in sight. I'm throwing down the challenge (and yes I do want to be one of the models)  and hope that Taking Shape take it but until that day just nip in for a look if you have one near you.

And as if that isn't enough fat fashion here is one of my latest outfit post videos
