Reasons To Be Happy 123

Its important to take time to smell the roses occasionally so here are a few things that have been making me happy recently.

Giving The Garden Some TLC
It might still be chilly but at least its looking jolly

Its spring and the garden at Pamper Towers has been crying out for some attention. Never one to turn down Mother nature when she comes a calling I have been planting, tidying and repainting all the woodwork so the garden now looks like a shiny new pin.
Potty about flowerpots

It never fails to surprise me how therapeutic I find spending time in my garden (which is teeny tiny but very lovely)

Creating my Easter Display

Easter Love

I'm always looking for excuses to create displays and Easter is only a few weeks away so I decided it was time to dress the lounge in some Easter inspired finery.
Chicken candles and light up bunny's-perfect

Disco Jesus has a thorn made of lambswool
This year the theme is Alice in wonderlands Mad hatter. So I have candy coloured top hats featuring chicks and bunny's as well as my traditional Easter table which is always a variation of the same theme. brightly painted eggs tied to willow.

Easter is acoming

Kinder Hippos

Be warned these are very, very addictive. I am having to ration myself to one a day otherwise I can easily scoff three in one sitting.

Indoor Lanterns
paper lantern loveliness
I love to have lanterns in the garden but thought my pink kitchen might appreciate some too. These were only £7 from Primark and look so pretty.

Seeing my lovely daughter in the Yours weekly email

This happened last week but it made me so happy. I opened my email to see a picture of me and Baba promoting Mothers Day. How adorable does she look!

Winning a £100 PinkClove voucher
I actually won something!!
Yes this actually happened. I didn't think anyone won anything from those facebook sharing type competitions but apparently you can and I did!! Watch this pace for the clothes haul of my life.
Whats been putting a smile on your dial?

Pink To make The Fattys Wink

Pretty in pink
I love the colour pink. If I didn't know better I would be convinced I was the illegitimate child of Barbra Cartland. My house is painted in varying shade of pink and my wardrobe features a lot of it.

J'Adore Pink
Its a colour that can divide. The "pink stinks" brigade worry that by dressing our daughters in pink and our boys in blue we are setting down predetermined gender roles (that's a complicated argument which I'm still unsure about, I remember believing that fiercely until I had  a daughter of my own who from an early age rejected the beautiful french navy and sea green clothes I brought her and seemed to instinctively yearn for pink,nature/nurture/outside indoctrination I just don't know) and there also seems to be a consensus that once a woman reaches a certain age she should ditch pink for more flattering shades of peach and taupe.
Fuck that I love bright, garish, so sweet it makes your teeth hurt pink and will wear it forever.
F**k flattering-its pink all the way

Elizabath Tayor wrote that she thinks she must have had purple nappy's and I feel the same about pink. Its in my DNA.
Which brings me neatly to this outfit. Spring is always a good excuse for a new coat and I picked up this little beauty from primark last week.
I like the slightly 1960's feel of this coat

Its my favourite kind of shape. Its got more than a hint of the 1960's about it and the jacquard type fabric makes it look so much more expensive than it actually was (I seem to remember it was £35 but I'm not exactly sure)

I'm wearing this coat of loveliness with my new "My little pony" leggings and an oversized pink top, also both from primarni. The leggings are a size 18 and quite short in the body so if you carry your chub around your tummy like I do grab the biggest size going.

Yet again I've wheeled out my pink ballet shoes and for bling I'm wearing my unicorn pendent from Limecrime.
I'm in the pink
Whats pink, fat and sizzles? no not a sausage (not in my vege house that's for sure) me of course!

Mothers Day Magic

This coming weekend is Mothers day and as a mummy to a rather cute little girl I was chuffed when Simply be offered to help me celebrate by sending me and baba some swish togs to wear on Sunday.
Of all my achievements being mum to such a scrumptious little girl is without doubt the one I am most proud of.
Little girls rock!!

My road to motherhood was long and at times a bit sad so I couldn't quite believe it when this beautiful brown eyed bundle of life force entered my world and I actually got to keep her and be her mum forever!
Baba is funny, clever and above all things so kind. She decided at the age of five she wanted to become a vegetarian (I was already almost fully vege but we were still eating a bit of free range chicken on a Sunday) because as soon as she contemplated that meat came from living creatures it broke her heart.
She has never swayed and even designed leaflets which her and her best friend gave out at the local Morrisons whilst I did a shop. They read "Free the animals, don't eat them" they were so sweet as they handed them out and left quite  a few little old ladies (of which West Kirby has a fairly high proportion) quite baffled.
Baba, sassy lover of My Little Pony, and strict Non meat eater
I think this activist side comes from my mums side of the family although there were also some pretty rabid trade unionist in my dads side too so maybe its a mix of the two-whoops!
Simply be's Luxe Prom Dress-what a great frock for spring

The dress I've chosen to spend with my own poppet (my mum is in Nottingham so it will be a phone call and kisses down the phone until I see her at Easter) is this rather fab Luxe print prom dress £60
Pastel girlishness with a rather luscious print
Great print

Bowling bag and shoes of loveliness

Simply Be always really deliver when it comes to this style of frock. As well as having a beautiful print the style and cut is so wearable. Nice square neckline so its not too booby and a skirt that hits over the knee.
I've teamed it with my fave shoes of the moment the flower ballerina pumps which are only £15 My arm candy is this pastel bowling bag £40 which is so perfect for spring.
Mother daughter posing

I'm loving candy colours at the moment and a bowling bag is always a great shape for me as it can carry a multitude of notebooks, make up, and other assorted tat which I apparently cant leave the house without.
Babas outfit is from Simply be's Kid division which is starting to feature some really nice children's clothes. Ever the little trendy Wendy she instantly fell in love with the Pineapple  range.

Here she is sporting a Rara skirt, teeshirt hoodie and leggings in an 1980's stylee. The quality of the Pineapple stuff is fab and this whole outfit comes in at just over £50 so not bad at all.
I'm being chased by a rabid Monster High fan-heavens help me!
The phantom handbag stealer strikes again

Mothers day can be a hard time for people who have lost their mums or perhaps have a fraught relationship or are estranged from them. Remember that you can always use the day to celebrate your own maternal instincts, we all have a neturing caring part of our lives whether we lavish this on kids, animals, partners or our friends and its perfectly ok to spend the day lighting a candle for a missed mother or writing a letter you will never post to a mother who you just cant have in your life.

We may have watched too much Americans next top model

However you spend it (or if you simply ignore it) have a great Sunday.

After my recent photoshoot with Yours Clothing I have a long list of items I want from their latest collection (eyelash cardigans in every shade just for starters) and I know a lot of my readers love their stuff too.
So I'm thrilled to announce that this weeks giveaway is a £20 online voucher to spend on whatever tickles your pickle on the Yours online store.

I just love everything about this frock. the colour, the print and the Peter pan collar-forget about it. Want, need must have!
How fab is this

I fell in love with these when I had my photo shoot and really need to get my hands on one. Soft as a kittens paw and such beautiful colours for spring. Bunny chic at its best

Every since I first watched Grease as a nipper I have been slightly obsessed with black leather jackets and this one has really caught my eye. Tell me about it stud!
When I modelled this for Yours I felt fantastic in it and I've since seen it worn by lots of my other fave plussie bloggers and it seems to be universally flattering.
This sweater looks great on everyone-fact

Easter themed fashion

Its nearly Easter. I have my bunny ears ready and this jumper would be absolutely perfect for wearing over the Easter bank holiday weekend, Cosy, cute and lets face it a bit daft. J'adore

This is one of those dresses that I know will make me feel like a character from a french movie. Picture me with a wicker bag, a stick of bread poking out the top, quilted ballet flats and a slash of red lipstick-ooh la la

this top received a lot of love when I first posted the picture of me wearing it. Its so pretty and a great shape.
