Nothing screams "Christmas" like a red dress. Even if you avoid strong colours throughout the year December is definitely the month for making an entrance and few things make more of an impression than a red frock.

This dress definitely makes an impression

I fell in love with this Red Lace Skater dress by AX Paris for Simply Be a few months ago when I ordered it for my meeting with Gok Wan. It didn't turn up in time (gutted) but it now means I have the perfect Christmas dress for some of my festive socialising.

This dress was meant for Gok-I think he may have appreciated my "bangers" in it.

This skater style is one of my favourites. Always flattering it the perfect foil for hiding a tummy full of mince pies and baileys.
This being a high neck it does rather emphasise my big boobies (my daughter says I look like I have giant red tomatoes stuck up my dress) but if you have got it, flaunt it I say.

Love the lace detail at the waist

The lace detail at the waist is really unusual and transforms a fairy simple dress in to something really special.I also love the pleated skirt. It flattens the tummy and sits beautifully on the hips.

Its the perfect party length, hitting just above the knee and the cropped sleeves are ideal for going to hot venues.  I've worn it with black tights and my wedge red heals. I'm off to my book club Christmas shindig so am wearing my Bete Noir "Bookworm" necklace. 
One thing to say about this dress is that its quite a small fit. If you tend to be between sizes I would size up as it is a bit snug around the boobs. 
My red heart clutch purse compliments it perfectly. I feel really festive. Like a rather glamorous Mrs Santa.
