Going for gold |
Take tonight, I'm going to a friends birthday party which is at her home and is informal, so I don't want to go too OTT but you know it is Christmas and it is a party so there needs to be some dressy element to to it.
Which is where this outfit by Pink Clove is perfect.

A gorgeous top by Pink Clove |
I've a fairly new convert to the "Peplum" style, Ive always been suspicious that a frill of fabric around my middle is the very last thing my figure requires to look its best but having seen a few of my fave plus size bloggers rocking them I decided I should give them a try and I'm so glad I did.
Taking a punt on a peplum |
This gold baroque velvet top is so perfect for this time of year. The fabric feels really luxurious and the fact that the top and sleeves are black stops it just short of being too "Christmas bauble chic" and instead makes for a rather sophisticated take on low key partywear. Smart with a splash of glitter.
This fabric is lovely |

I adore a pencil skirt-very Rizzo from Grease |
Ive teamed it with a rather fab pencil skirt also by Pink Clove which is a snip at only £9. In fact as I've come to expect from Pink Clove the entire outfit only comes to £33 which is insanely cheap for well made plus size clothes.
I've teamed the skirt and top with tights, wedge heels and my fave leopard print bag. I feel sophisticated but also fun. Its impossible to take yourself too seriously with nearly half your outfit is gold.I feel like a sexy ice skater if ice skaters were fat and er couldn't skate-you know what I mean?
Sexy fat skater |
To compliment the gold of the top I've also worn my tiger necklace from primark.l I feel glam and festive but not too overdressed to stand in someones house and drink pink fizz.
Glam bit not too overdressed |
This outfit would also be great for Christmas day. the peplum on the top and elasticated waist on the skirt would be very forgiving after all the days eating but it feels fit for an "occasion"
The cut of this top would be very forgiving for Christmas day |
With this style of top I actually preferred it with a neat little shrug over the top, I can look ridiculously top heavy if I wear anything that's all one colour and I did prefer it with a cardigan but have shown you it worn both ways so you can get the full effect of the top.
I quite liked the top with this black shrug as I preferred the overall look more |
Ready to party and drink my considerable body weight in pink fizz |
Loving Pink Cloves price points |
If your Christmas wardrobe budget has dwindled after you have brought your gifts and paid your bills take a quick look at Pink Cloves collection. Super affordable and very glam.
