What I Wore For My Date With Gok Wan

Hey we match
Last week I met Gok Wan at a Simply Be launch party to promote his latest collection of underwear for the brand (you can read my post about it here)
Deciding what to wear to meet such a style guru was surprisingly tricky. I have a strong sense of my own style so wasn't intimidated as such but it was definitely an evening where I wanted to get it right.
I had a little bit of a frock disaster in the lead up to the event as had been hoping to wear an AX Paris frock from Simply be but I ordered it too late and it didn't arrive.
Frantically going through my wardrobe I came upon a frock which I brought last year from the retro inspired label Sirens and Starlets.
Myself and Lilly did some modelling for them a while ago so I have a few of their beautiful dresses and this black flocked number always makes me feel amazing so was the perfect choice. I checked and you can still buy it and its a bargaintastic £34
The perfect LBD
As its rather chilly all of a sudden I teamed it with one of my fave shrugs by Simply be. I love this bolero style shrug as its flecked with glitter and unlike a lot of other shrugs is a really nice shape and fastens up.
On my trotters I wore a pair of Goldigga Wedges Surely the most comfortable high shoes ever invented. I love the vaguely Japanese craziness of these patent heels and I do totter like a geisha in them.
I ain't saying she's a Goldigga-but her shoes are
And this is how it looked. To counteract the full black I'm wearing lots of bright pink Limecrime lipstick and a pink flower in my hair.I waved my hair and victory rolled it as it seemed to suit the fifties feel of the frock.
Ready to meet Gok Wan and fondle knickers-standard night out really
How to look good not naked
Thanks to the lovely Callie from Corners of the curve for taking these shots of me.
