Getting My Gok On!

I've always had  a bit of  a soft spot for Gok Wan. He seems to genuinely love Womens body's and unlike so many other celebrity stylists he always makes chicks look amazing in a really translatable wearable way.
I absolutely adore the lingerie range he has produced for Simply be. 
With its retro inspired designs and amazing prints and colours its almost too pretty to wear underneath clothes.
So when I was invited to attend a party to meet Mr Wan himself and look at this seasons latest collection-well it seemed rude to say no.

The event was for bloggers which meant I got to catch up with lots of my fave blogger babes. It was a veritable whose whose of plus size blogger mavens.
I got ready with Mrs Bebe and Elena (aka Frivolous Mrs D) which was lovely girly catch up time. It all quickly descended into a school girl dorm with Becky having to lace me into my corset and Elena getting me to apply her false lashes.

We met up with the gorgeous Callie from Corners of the Curve, Dani Evanier , Rosie Roundface and Laura from What Laura Loves and nipped out for  an early dinner. The Moroccan restaurant in Covent garden was called Souk and was lovely-all twinkly and candle lit.
The Gok Event itself was held at the beautiful Covent garden Hotel in the Blue Room. Simply be as usual looked after us all wonderfully and the place was awash with cocktails, canapes and goody bags.

When Gok arrived he was scrumptious. He made time to chat to everyone, managed to not let his eyes glaze over as he was no doubt asked the same questions again and again and looked very dapper indeed in a beautiful suit jacket.
The latest range was available to look at and it really is a fab collection.
The stand out pieces for me were without a doubt the Herringbone check slip and bra

 which also comes in a purple version-such vibrant strong colours.

I was also loving the white sassy slip and bra as I know from having been a plus size bride how hard it is to find white underwear in these cuts and sizes.

Great for brides

Which brings me to my only slight complaint-None of the bras come in my size-wah! The range stops at a 46DD which is a few cups short of the mark for me sadly.
The good news is that the control briefs and knickers go up to a size 32 so I can still have some Gok in my knicker drawer-would be great to up the size range though guys-pretty please!
Slight moan aside it was a fabulous twinkly evening full of cocktails  lingerie and Gok Wan in one of the beautiful parts of London-doesn't get better than that.Here are some pictures.
