A little bit of country, a little bit of rock n roll

These boots were made for walking
When Fashionworld approached me to take part in their "get the look" challenge offering to send me a handbag and boots from the Claire Richards collection  I was very excited. I am a bit of an accessories queen and own more handbags that I care to admit and love getting new shoes (a hangover from when you couldn't buy much in bigger sizes  but could always get shoes to fit) I've also been more than a little impressed with some of the items that have come out of the brands collaboration with the Steps singer (I reviewed a fab dress from her last collection here)
Fringe Wedges-I was unsure at first

When the boots arrived I was a little bit unsure, fringed wedges with more than a hint of cowgirl chic would not be something I would usually choose and my husband singing Bon Jovis "blaze of glory" when I first wore them didn't help) the bag on the other hand was a no brainer, the Leopard print pouch purse is a super cute evening purse with enough room for my phone, lippy and compact-hubba hubba.
Come to Mama

I decided to put the boots with a fit and flare  dress I've just brought from Matalan. I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it on the rail, its a classic skater style with zip pockets and looks very high fashion but is a snip at £25.

Dress by Matalan-style all my own

Coupled with leggings and a pair of sparkly cat ears from Crown and glory I suddenly went from being unsure about the boots to absolutely loving them.

Sparkly ears-Standard

Dry humping the fridge as usual-its too cold and wet for the garden

With the high wedges and and fringing they are surprisingly funky looking (they are a dead ringer for a pair by designer Isabel Marant) and because I have kept the rest of my outfit quite simple I don't look like I should be heading to a line dancing convention. I'm a little bit country, a little bit rock n roll as Marie Osmand once sang.

The purse adds a well needed pop of colour and fun and I have to say I feel really lovely in this outfit. Its smarter than my usual style and slightly more tailored but I still feel very feminine and dare I say it quite high fashion. And yes I've used the term "High Fashion" in the same breath as "Fringed cowgirl boots" so sue me!
