Wet (Look) And Wild

Wet (look) and wild
October is officially the month I indulge my inner Goth so when I saw this black wet look panel skater dress by plus size label “Yours” it had to be mine.
This dress had to be mine
I love that as my confidence has grown over the last few years (due in part to writing this blog) I am drawn more and more to clothes, which are edgy or slightly offbeat. What I love even more is that increasingly I can find these clothes in my size and that they don’t have to cost a fortune (this dress is £30)
My fashion confidence is through the roof

Channelling my inner goth-well it is October

Shiny fabrics and PVC were always materials I thought would look absolutely awful on my “child of a Russian” doll figure but as you can see with this dresses cut and clever panelling it looks fab.
Shiny Fabrics shouldn't work-but guess what they do!

I love the contrast between the Matt and the shiny panels

The dress comes with a black patent belt which pulls it in nicely and it is sleeveless. The style is my favourite skater dress which seems to be universally flattering.
The black patent belt really pulls the whole look together

I've teamed it with an old Colletif  cardigan as its quite cold today, some black leggings and my "fatshion" necklace, which was in the Plus North goody bags last month.
Admiring my pixie boots
Keeping with a vaguely Helen Bonham Carter Goth theme I'm also wearing some cat buckle boots by Irregular choice-miaow
Purfect

My handbag is an oldie but a goldie. A black fur number which is a past season Debenhams buy. It looks a little bit like a black cat so works wonderfully with my "Sisters of Mercy" chic
A furry Bag-insert joke
Trying out styles and fabrics you have previously avoided is so liberating, I can’t recommend it enough.
Feeling liberated
Being fat is no longer an excuse for being drab. Lets parade around like plump peacocks, shocking the school run or raising our work colleague’s eyebrows.
My message is clear-Yes I'm fat, and I'm fabulous! Laugh, Mock or ask me for style tips, its immaterial to me.I no longer require society's permission to feel awesome.
Oh my! I'm fat and fabulous!
