My Pink clove Debut |
As someone who is old enough to remember when there was really only one or two places to get plus size clothes, its still really exciting whenever a new plus size label is launched.
I was approached by new brand Pink clove a few weeks ago to go to an event in London to meet them and check out their new collection. Sadly I couldn't go as the trains back to Liverpool from London finish so stupidly early, so they very kindly sent me a few items to review and here is the first.
Pink cloves tag line is "Affordable Plus Size" and on their intro page they say they aim to "translate the latest catwalk trends" So far so good.
Looking through the collection its a nice mix of classic basics (tee shirts, leggings, cardigans) along with some dresses and skirts in interesting fabrics and edgier cuts.
This black lace skater dress certainly lives up to the affordable pledge as its only £26 and is very lovely indeed.
Affordable and beautiful-hurrah |
Doing my best English eccentric look |
I do have a bit of a thing for black lace frocks and this is one of the nicest I've seen in ages.I always feel a little bit Helena Bonham Carter when I wear lace, english, eccentric and darkly glamorous. Once a goth, always a goth.
Doing my best moody goth |
This dress is a classic skater style with a drop waist and flared skirt so incredibly flattering. The sizing is true and its a great fit.
Classic skater style |
My favorite details on this are the lace sleeves which allow my tattoos to peak out
Love the lace sleeves with scallop detail |
A hem so pretty I don't mind flashing my legs |
Being a skater dress this would be above the knee on anyone taller than me (I'm five foot three) but I think with black leggings or tights this would make an amazing winter frock, dressed down with a cardigan and flats or as a beautiful party dress with seamed tights and heels.
My new red wedges are perfect |
I'm wearing this for an evening out with friends so have glammed it up with my new Red wedges by Goldigga and a red heart clutch purse. Other than that I have left it fairly simple as its so beautiful its doesn't feel like it needs any more embellishment (aside from a blingy Liz Taylor inspired cocktail ring, well once a magpie, always a magpie)
My sparkly cocktail ring is all this dress needs |
I would probably usually wear this with tights or leggings as my legs above the knee are my least favorite body part but in an attempt to embrace all my imperfections I have decided to flaunt my wobbly legs for all to see.Surprise, surprise no one gave them a second glance.
Pink Clove is off to a great start |
I think this is an incredibly promising start for Pink clove. So will be checking in with interest. Its brilliant to see more cool plus size clothes brands springing up. More choice of what to wear on my killer curves.
