Choosing what to wear at a Plus Size fashion event-tricky! |
Anyone who follows my twitter feed or facebook page will know that I spent last Saturday at Plus North . An amazing event celebrating all things fat, fabulous and fashionable I had an absolute ball and have so much to share with you especially about the A/W collections I saw both on the catwalk and at each brand concession but while I work through the photos I thought I would share the daytime outfit I wore.
Simply Be Cut out detail dress |
Deciding what to wear for
Plus north was incredibly nerve wracking, knowing that hundreds of super stylish
plus size hotties as well as representatives from clothing brands are all going
to be in the same place can make you second guess your own taste, needless to
say I was so pleased when I received this cut out detail dress from Simply Be’s new
collection.
The beautiful raspberry
colour is so perfect as we go into autumn. The style is classic skater dress
but features a cheeky cut out adding a certain air hostess/startrek element to it,
which in my world can only be a good thing.
It’s slightly 1960’s, slightly
futuristic and very, very pretty. Its also animal print which as you all know, I am mad about.
My Vivienne Westwood bag is the perfect arm candy for this outfit |
Bette Noir necklace with my blog name on-the modern equivalent of a name badge |
Cheeky cut out detail-giving the "girls" an airing |
I've nipped my waist in with a wide belt by Evans |
I’ve teamed it with a
shrug also by Simply be. This is fast becoming a fave of mine. I love the
slight shoulder pad effect and the glitter threaded through the fabric. My "Pamper & Curves" necklace by bete Noire is the perfect antidote for meeting new people. If I'm struck by a sudden case of nerves I can just point to my boobs (in hindsight this could send mixed signals)
I've had so much wear out of this shrug |
As it’s a skater dress I’m
wearing it with leggings and my new Goldigga patent wedges. These shoes are such a find. Wide enough for my chubby trotters and comfortable enough that I stomped around in them for hours and didn't feel a thing.
Love these wedges so much |
Enjoying the ambiance at the fab Renaissance hotel in Manchester |
Just like Amy Winehouse
said, when I get nervous, my hair gets bigger so I’ve got a huge beehive going
on, lots of false eyelash action and Limecrimes Pink planet lipstick.
Big nerves=big hair |
My outfit received lots of
compliments so thanks Simply be for yet again offering me a big shot of confidence
in the guise of a dress.
