Last month I was asked if
I would like to attend the filming of Curvissa's brand new advert in
Manchester.
 |
Girls on film-the make up artist and stylist busy at work |
I love Curvissa and always
find their clothes are very flattering to my shape so was really happy to be
asked.
 |
Mood boards for the shoot |
 |
Curvissa's now well know format-letting the clothes do the talking |
The idea for the latest
advert is exactly the same approach as Curvissa’s previous two ads. Different
looks for day wear, evening wear and casual wear all filmed against plain
coloured backgrounds to showcase the outfits without any fuss.
 |
Strike a pose |
With it being for the autumn/winter
campaign the set ups were for parties, lovely layering and keeping warm in a
super stylish way.The set was a flurry of creative activity.
 |
Hanging out with one of Curvissas beautiful models |
As well as chatting to the director and models I was also allowed a sneaky peek through the rails of clothes and great accessories-The shoe section alone was fantastic.
 |
Shoes glorious shoes |
 |
Lots of clothes ready to be modelled |
The Curvissa Team are a great bunch who are really keen to listen to
feedback on their ranges and ensure every collection is better than the last.It was so interesting chatting to them about which new season trends they are featuring and their ideas for cuts and shapes to ensure lots of plus size style.
 |
The lovely Gemma in my fave dress from the shoot |
As always it was the
dresses that really caught my eye and I instantly fell in love with the circle
frock being worn by model Gemma. Everything from the fit to the slightly 1960’s
print looked amazing.
I also really loved the
Jersey print dress seen here. Its cut out sleeves and below the knee length
made it look very classy and would be perfect for a evening out or party.
 |
This is such a fab dress |
The lovely Rosie from the
blog “A Rose like this” also came along to the shoot and it was great to catch
up with her. As it was the summer holidays I also took my little girl along who
was beside herself to be at a real fashion shoot. Everyone was so nice to her
and they made her year so thanks guys.
At the end of a busy afternoon we were allowed a real treat. One of the scenes the girls filmed included the most adorable “stunt” dog “Dash” he was so good and we were all allowed to pet and play with him before he left.
A great end to a fantastic day. Thanks Curvissa for inviting me, can’t wait to see the advert!

My little girl getting in on the dog stroking action |
And as if that wasn't fab enough the lovely Curvissa team sent me the Circle print dress to try for myself.
Now taking outfit post photos when the weather turns and its dark and wet outside can be a challenge so these pictures are taken in my pink kitchen. Rather than hide the fact I decided to embrace it and pose with my fridge-bet Kate Moss never has these problems.

Striking a pose next to my fridge
Trying on a dress that you have only seen on a stunning model can be a bit daunting but as you can see this dress is fantastic and works just as well on my size 20 apple shaped figure as it did on Gemma's size 16 hourglass.

Love the black and white circles |
With the dress having a black top and patterned bottom its very flattering. the circle print hides all your lumps and bumps and I love the retro feel it gives.

Great square neck |
The square neckline is so fantastic if like me you are in possession of a rather "Hello Boys" type cleavage. Contrary to popular belief ladies with big bangers do not always want them on show and this neckline makes the dress look really classy and ensures it works well for day wear.
 |
Do you come here often? |
The fabric of the dress is a cotton jersey so very comfortable. It is already slightly fitted but I wanted it to look like a killer wiggle dress so nipped it in further at the waist with a wide belt.
I always love the combination of black, white and red together so I've teamed the dress with my fave red wedges, a red heart necklace and my Lulu Guinness Poodle bag.
Its great how the dress clings to my curves-which as the brand is called Curvissa is rather apt!
