Rock Chick Style And Knee High Boots

These boots were made for walking!
I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with knee high boots.
I absolutely love how they look, (part Adam Ant Prince Charming, part foxy rock chick) but getting any that fit my chunky calves without cutting off the circulation has always been a challenge.
I hate to have knee muffin top so as a rule they haven’t featured much in my boot collection.
Jeggings are also an item that have so far passed me by and until now had yet to own a pair.
So when Fashionworld asked to try their new  ‘two way boots” along with a pair of their jeggings I was keen to have a go.Its good to move out of your fashion comfort zone occasionally.
Moving out of my clothing/footwear comfort zone

Two way boots-I like these-a lot

The two way boots are such a cool idea. As the name suggests you can wear them as a straightforward knee boot but as the leg part is detachable also turn them into a rather fabulous pair of ankle boots.
I really like this feature. Clothes and shoes that are multi purpose represent so many more options in the style stakes and without being too sensible about something as fabulous as shoes represent great value.

Hey presto and now they are a Chelsea style short boot-genius

A massive plus point for me is that these boots come in a range of calve sizes (they go up to a EEE width fitting) All I needed to do was measure my tree trunks correctly and the boots fitted perfectly!

I'm so pleased Ive found a pair of boot that will fit my chunky legs

I was actually quite surprised when they zipped up so easily as my boot buying history is littered with disappointment. At £55 they are quite an affordable boot as well and really nice quality.
Affordable quality-that's what we like

Loving these heart print jeggings

The jeggings which are £25 and go up to a size 36 were also a revelation  (I know I really should get out more) I think the thing that had always put me off these was the worry that they would somehow look a bit like those stretch maternity jeans you get (with the billowing stomach area and tight legs) but I’m glad to report that they kind of do what they say on the tin.
Jeggings-they do what they say on the tin
They are thick like jeans so more hard wearing than leggings but have the slinky fit of a legging (no bulky top button or zip so no muffin top) I’m quite taken with them especially this pair with the heart print on.

Rock chick chic
I've worn them with a lovely new shrug from Simply be which has little bits of glitter running through it, a leopard print vest by Matalan and a wide belt from Evans.
My Balanciaga arm candy finishes off the look
My Balenciaga motorcycle handbag completes the look perfectly.
Thanks Fashion world-I can now channel my fave rock chick Ann Wilson from Heart with my knee high boots and even do some big kicks in my jeggings whilst belting out “Alone”. Something to entertain the neighbours with.

Liberace Bunny Ears And Panda Pop Jumpers OOTD

Panda Pop!
Its that’s weird time of year when the weather isn't quite sure what its doing.
I’m switching between sticking the heating on some mornings and then by the afternoon having to open all the windows and take off my layers because the sun has arrived with a vengeance.

Navigating the tricky transition from summer to autumn

Late August, early September is always a bitch to dress for especially as I always get over excited and start wanting to wear coats and scarves at the first sign of cloud and then end up a sweaty mess.
I've just decided to take this all in my stride and  and what better way than with this jumper by George at Asda.

Barbra Streisand cat getting onto shot-bet Tess Munster doesn't have to work in these sort of conditions
Supermarket clothes aren't always that exciting but you do occasionally stumble on some gems and this is one of them.
I like accessories that don't take themselves too seriously
I love clothes and accessories that don’t take themselves too seriously and there is no doubt my panda top is a bit silly.I think sometimes us plus size hotties can be slightly wary of wearing clothes that are daft or humorous.
So often we have suffered ridicule at the hands of idiots in the past so the thought of putting our chubby head above the fashion parapet can be daunting.I know pouring my size 20 booty into a bright white jumper with a large panda on the front may raise a few eyebrows but quite honestly I have stopped given a toss. Its liberating. Come on lets stop giving a toss together!

At £16 it’s a lovely inexpensive addition to my wardrobe and really cosy.
In an effort to avoid looking too much like a children’s TV presenter I've thrown my cutesy jumper over a lace dress by Pearl Lowe, (from her much beloved Peacocks range, long since gone sob!) a pair of leggings from primark (standard) and my vegetarian doctor martin style boots (a steal at £20 form ebay) as it’s a bit nippy I've also worn some cream leg warmers. I’m hoping this makes the outfit slightly edgier.
Leg warmers and dockers to give the cute some edge
I've teamed this with my new “Liberace” bunny ears. As soon as I saw these by Crown and glory I had to have them. Few things make this girl happier than a pair of glittery ears-I’m not sure why this is so but in my life it’s just a fact.
I've quiffed my hair at the front and as per usual am wearing bright pink lipstick by Lime crime.
Crystal encrusted bunny ears-Hell yeah!
Too much for a walk around West Kirby? I think not
It’s the last week of my daughters summer holidays and we are planning lots of fun day trips so I’m thinking this outfit will work beautifully for dashing about in.
Perfect for day trips.
I'm a plump panda with sparkly ears. Proving that plus size fashion never has to be boring.

Six Weeks Of Girly Goodness

Thank heavens for little girls (especially ones who steal your lipstick)
As a mum my blog and social media pages always become slightly neglected during the holidays and this one has been no different.
Apart from Vintage Pamperbox bookings Ive completely scaled back all my freelance writing work, have got in the habit of leaving my phone at home when I go out and have just tried to unplug myself from the mainframe for a spell.I'm sure your life has continued quite unaffected by by constant stream of drivel so I've not worried too much about it.
We spent so long in the pool on holiday we felt part Mermaid
Ive been having the best time hanging  out with my daughter. We have quickly got into terrible slovenly habits which include lying in bed until after 9am, padding around in our PJs until late morning watching DVDs of Sabrina the teenage witch and back to back episodes of Adventure time and Gravity falls and then going out for walks, or the movies or playdates. Its been a glitter filled, strawberry lip balm fragranced blast of girlyness.
Our other two partners in crime Bandit and Barbra-these cats rock our world!
I will be gutted when she goes back to school, not just because I will miss her company but because it will also signal that its time to get my nose back to the grindstone. The fact that my "grindstone" actually contains some pretty exciting projects wont stop me being a bit teary this time next week as I iron her school uniform and try desperately to find her matching socks.
Any way here are some pictures of some of our adventures.
Paddling in the warm sea
Bottle feeding a unicorn with one of mamas empties from the aeroplane duty free (whoops)
Making a rabbit hutch out of a cardboard box for her toy bunny
Doing her best Darth impression
Voguing in the hotel lifts

Serious proper blogging about clothes, make up etc will resume shortly!
