Squeeze My Lemons

lemon print for a sunny day
There's a whiff of summer in the air and for me that always means 50s inspired dresses.Today its my little girls 7th birthday and this outfit is perfect.
I already own the  lovely Penelope Poppy dress by simply be which is a similar shape to this which I reviewed here and I've just had so much wear out of it that when I saw this little beauty I had to have it.

I love the neckline on this dress, its perfect
I absolutely love the lemon print on this dress and the gorgeous bright yellow colour. The neon yellow belt is very this season and accentuates the already nipped in waist so a big thumbs up from me.
The neon yellow belt brings this retro style bang up to date
The back is cut out and it's got a lovely chunky zip at the back too (sorry I didn't take any pictures of this-must try harder)
this cute black shrug b works perfectly
As you can see I've paired it with a black short sleeved shrug also from simply be. I don't really wear a lot if shrug style tops preferring cardigans but the lightweight material and slight sparkle which runs through the thread of this one makes it very beautiful indeed and its so light its perfect for warm days.
I'm feeling lemony fresh
Squeeze my lemons
I've worn my hair in a big fat bun and to compliment my zesty mood I'm wearing Valentine Suedeberry by Limecrime. I thought I had lost this lipstick but found it at the bottom of a bag I hadn't used for a while. Don't you love it when that happens?

And the shrug is off

The cut of this frock is so flattering
My shoes are new too and are ballet pump style crocs. I've worn my hello kitty crocs so much they had a hole in but they are comfortable I decided to get a similar pair. These were from Schuh in Liverpool and cost £50

here I am with the birthday girl
I'm not sure how long this good weather will last but while it does I'm taking the chance to be super bright and very girly. Hey look no tights!
It's illegal to run around naked so if we must wear clothes let's wear ones which make us feel really great. Body size or shape be damned. If you like it, wear it.That's my moto. I'm living proof that being fat and forty isn't really that bad at all.
