Betty's Beauty Steals

I'm a self confessed beauty junkie!
As a self confessed make up junkie finding places that sell my favourite brands at discounted prices takes me right to my happy place. So I was very happy when I was asked to review a site called Beauty Steals
Its a simple premise, an online boutique which stocks end of lines and discontinued make up including brands like Mac and benefit and even throws in free P & P for good measure.
Its quite a slick looking website and I particularly love that they stock discontinued lines as I am cursed for falling in love with certain foundations or lipsticks only for them to disappear after a few seasons. It also stocks an impressive line of luxury beauty brands and although they don't have a huge range for each brand its actually seems to stock colours and products you would want to buy.
Urban decay for a few quid

Bourjois lippy for buttons
For example they have Urban decay eyeshadow in shades like Rockstar for under a fiver and Bourjois lipstick for £3 in shades like Rose Doux Perle which I love. There is even an "under £3" section which given that the free P & P is available on all orders actually makes it so competitive and totally appealed to my lazy ass side.
You do need to be quick, I hesitated to buy a massively discounted black mac eyeliner and then whoosh it was gone and you have to remember this is end of line items so you are not going to find the latest products setting beauty blogs alight but for an inexpensive make up fix its really rather good.
Plump it up!
I picked two products to review. The first was Benefits Lip Plump primer. Ive wanted to use this for ages as love the idea of slightly plumping out my lips. I was slightly dubious but as these pictures show I think it definitely has some effect.
Dot on upper and lower lips

Rub in

You apply two dots on the top and bottom of your lips and rub in. it doesn't tingle which is why I was quite sceptical but it provides a lovely base for your lipstick and I definitely felt my lips looked fuller.
Lips immediately after-no obvious change
Lips a few minutes later-top lip looks slightly fuller

With lipstick over the top

definitely more pouty

Its not going to give you Angelina Jolie lips but unlike resorting to cosmetic fillers there is no risk of getting a trout pout either so I was pleasantly surprised. I think I might get some for my professional kit too as would be a lovely product to use for photo shoots or even on brides.
Vintage Blusher-Looks like a real blast from the past

The second product I reviewed was the Technic Vintage Rose blusher panstick I was totally intrigued by this as it looked like the kind of make up you would find on your nans dressing table and at £3.99 its a total bargain.
Like a rather large lipstick
This is a lovely little stick of cream blusher and the rose shade makes you look so healthy and rosy.

Rouging those cheeks
Blend, blend or you will look like a doll
You do have to approach it with caution as you can risk looking like Aunt Sally from  Worzel gummidge but for a tiny dot of colour on the apples of your cheeks its a total winner. This is also a great product if you are starting to find powder blushes are looking cakey due to the cold weather or changes in your skins elasticity.
A little goes a long way but the end result is a lovely glow

Overall I had a lovely time trying out the Beauty Steals website and will definitely be hopping on over again, if only to see if they restock that Mac eyeliner!
