Its Begining To Look A Lot Like Christmas

As a self confessed Christmas head I love it when the Christmas adverts for the big chains like M & S, John Lewis and of course the classic Coca cola campaign (Holiday's are coming) begin in earnest. It gives me permission to start planning gifts, digging out recipes and generally becoming full of festive cheer.

This year Ive got even more excuse to get my Christmas good cheer on early as The Vintage Pamperbox is running its first Christmas Pin Up event on the 1st of December.

As a lover of 1950's Christmas cards Ive long wanted to do a photo shoot as a vintage inspired Christmas hottie and thought that perhaps I wasn't alone in this. A day learning about classic Hollywood make up techniques, drinking muled wine, listening to Christmas carols and having a photoshoot sounded like heaven to me and I'm delighted that it seems lots of other lovely ladies agree.

In preparation for this event Ive been looking at lots of wonderful pictures of forties and fifties film stars and models made up in their yule tide finery. Making mood boards, trying out new ideas and generally getting ready to apply lashings of glamour to my lovely pins ups come the 1st of December.

So here it is permission to start feeling twinkly, crack open the Baileys and embrace the delicious build up to Christmas which is after all always the best bit.

The Vintage Pamperboxes Christmas Pin Up event takes place on December the 1st. for more details check out http://www.vintagepamperbox.com/

  1. Damn, I wish I could come. I love Christmas (in fact, I find that the older I grow, the more child-like happiness I find about both Christmas and winter) and it'd be an amazing experience to take part in the event. Sadly, I'll only just be back from uni - and I don't suppose you'd run the even in either Oxford or Bradford? Maybe I'll get a chance with the next one. :)

  3. I just got all my card making stuff (off EBay, too cheap for the shops!) so am looking forward to festive crafting soon! I love Christmas, my nails are already glittery green.
