Betty Pamper In Simply Be

Betty Bee in Simply Be
When the Simply Be team asked me if I would like to pick a few items to try I was absolutely thrilled. I already own a lot of stuff by them and love the fact they have so many different designs and ranges that regardless of your personal style, shape or size you can always find something to wear.
When I picked this shoe print dress I went against my usual advice and allowed myself to be totally swayed by the fabric. Usually I avoid high round necks like the plague as I can feel like I have a shelf of boob and in general don't always feel that skater style frocks are particularly flattering, however I was so in love with this fab material featuring shoes and handbags that I threw caution to the wind and I'm so glad I did.

I'm a fashion maverick-rocking a high round neckline when gravity and proportion tell me I shouldn't
I fell in love with this print as soon as I saw it.

True Blue baby I love you

When it arrived I was slightly worried that my reservations were right and it wasn't going to work but once I got it on I was really pleased. The pale blue colour is just scrumptious and its just so pretty I feel like twirling in it.

The oldest BB trick in the book. Wearing a darker cardi to give the illusion of a nipped in shape
Ive used one of my usual Betty tricks of wearing a darker coloured cardigan knotted which not only creates the illusion of some definition but with a dress like this which is a full on all over print  stops me looking like a cube of fabric.

Beehive in the garden
The dress is made in jersey and is very soft so hangs really nicely. The sizing is quite generous as well and I could have gone down a size quite easily. However because this kind of style can cling to your stomach I was quite glad that it was a looser fit.
Feeling all 1960's and rather ladylike
I decided to channel a bit of a 1960's look to match the print so have worn my hair in a beehive and clipped my fringe into a little kiss curl at the side.

This was one of the first handbags I ever brought which cost more than a tenner and ten years later its still going strong

My bag is an oldie but a goldie. A Hermes Kelly homage by Jasper Conran for Debenhams I brought this bag at least ten years ago and still love it. It suited this look perfectly and I felt like a big bangered Holly Golightly.

Mrs Bee is my name, plus sized perfection is my game
Heart necklace by Lilly Von Pink
My necklace is from the Pearls range by my best friend Lilly Von Pink She makes them to order.
Pretty in pink

To finish the ice cream pastel colours Ive worn my lovely Iron Fist Demon Donkey ballet flats by Dolly Mixture clothing.
Pink lips and huge hair-a classic style recipe which always makes me feel tremendous
My eye make up is from the Urban Decay Naked2 palette. Ive used shades, booty call, busted and YDK. My eyeliner is the Wink eyeliner pen from Barry M and lipstick is Rose Sorbet by Rimmel
Decide on a look and then use hair, make up and accessories to pull it off
One of the frustrations many plus sized gals have is they feel that there is  still a lack of choice in retailers which go up to bigger sizes and so the opportunity to be creative with clothes can feel limited. However as I hope Ive shown here you can take something as simple as a jersey dress and with the right styling turn yourself into a 1960's Audrey Hepburn alike one day and then the next chuck it on with ribbed tights, converse and a bright pink hoodie and rock some skater girl chic. I do this all the time, its just a case of looking at your clothes in a different way and not being afraid to "commit" to a total look (something as you can see I have no problem with)
Thanks Simply be for the frock. Ive already taken it to the movies, pranced around New Brighton Pier and driven with the windows down singing Barbra Streisand at the top of my voice so its had a jolly good time.
