Pin Ups In Pinnies Calendar Shoot

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to take part in a fabulous photo shoot for Manchester based cupcake company  Pin ups in pinnies.
Not only was I asked to model (I was Miss June and Lilly Von Pink was Miss July) but myself and Lilly Von Pink also acted as make up artists alongside Lena Stobbe who provided hair styling. It was a Vintage Pamperbox dream booking.
Mister Bee was on photography duty adding his special brand of magic to every image.
The idea behind the shoot was to create a calender reminiscent of the fab Elvgren pictures from the 1950's so very cheesecake, very cheeky and with lots of glamour.

Miss January

Lady Wildflower as Miss January in Vivien of Holloway

Miss February
Rebecca Harman as Miss February. Necklace by Lilly Von Pink, Dress by 20th Century Foxy
The finished calender will be available to buy and will be stocked in cool boutiques, and on the Pin ups and pinnies website.
Miss March
Amy Hughes as Miss March. Dress by Limb

Miss April

Glorian Gray as Miss April. hair flower by Imogen's Imaginations
Pin ups in pinnies held a competition last year and sassy gals from all over the UK sent in their pictures to be voted for via a facebook campaign.

Miss May
Elle O Buoys as Miss May. Dress by Limb, Hair flower by Imogen's Imagination

Miss June
Betty Bee as Miss June. Dress by Collectif, Necklace by Diamonds and Daggers

The lucky winners got to model some quite stunning clothes and accessories  as well as being given the full Vintage Pamperbox treatment.

Miss July
Lilly Von Pink and Nunu Von Pink are Miss July. Dress by Collectif, Necklace by Lilly Von Pink
Miss August
Lena "Bopalena" Stobbe as Miss August

As you can imagine from the early stages quite a few rather magnificent companies wanted in on this and the final sponsors list was a bit of a whose who of rockabilly, 1950's inspired chic.
Dresses were provided by Collectif, Vivien of Holloway Limb and 20th century Foxy, Jewellery by Lilly Von Pink,Diamonds and Daggers and Dollycool and hats and fasinators by Imogen's Imagination.

Miss September
Elle J Divine as Miss September Blouse and trousers by 20th century Foxy. Hat by Imogen's Imaginations
As each girl was a particular month myself and Lilly worked with the lovely Alex who runs Pin ups and pinnies and decided on themes. Some were obvious (Valentines, Christmas) and others were us wanting to create some really kitsch vintage inspired images with a slick editorial feel.

Miss October
Laura LaVelle as Miss October.Dress by Limb, Necklace by Dollycool
Miss November
Andrea Jayne Holland as Miss November. Dress by Limb.

Lilly designed all the make up and her "face sheets" were invaluable on the day of the shoot. We didn't just want to do the standard glam fifties look (although we heart it and did use it for some) we also wanted to move outside of our comfort zone so devised looks using pink eyeshadow, glitter lips, face paint and big hair.
Lilly's invaluable make up face sheets
Over two days  we went through a lot of false eyelashes, glitter and hairspray and created some really fantastic shots. The few Ive included here are just a taster of whats to come!

Miss December
Alexandra Barnett the beauty and brains behind Pin ups in pinnies is Miss December. Dress and hair flowers by Vivien of Holloway
Poor Alex now has the tough job of deciding which ones will feature in the completed calender. We also filmed the whole thing so watch out for a vlog coming very soon.

The whole experience was an absolute joy.Creative, interesting and such a good laugh.
Every girl who modelled was a total dollychops. It was a real mix of experience with some already having done some modelling and others coming to it for the first time and yet they were all voguing like they had been doing it all their lives once the cameras began rolling.

I will of course keep you all posted as soon as the calender is ready to buy-keep your eyes peeled!

She wore flowers in her hair OOTD

Crazy in coral
Hurrah it finally feels like summer. Its hot, its sunny, I'm full of hayfever. Summer has arrived, for how long I don't know but I'm grasping the nettle and wearing pastels, who knows when I will get the chance again.
This dress is by Matalan and I also own one in yellow. Its such a lovely shape and so simple in its cute coral colour.its honestly felt too grim to wear this so far this year but today its perfect.

Ive teamed it with a turquoise cardigan by Monsoon. Knotted in the middle. This cardigan is absolutely ancient and beginning to wear out but with its crystal buttons and glitter thread I love it too much to discard.

A threadbare cardigan and a vanity case as a handbag

On my feet are my new faves bow jelly pumps and in my hair is a flower headband by Primark which Ive wrapped around a messy bun. I feel a little like a fairy of the forest, don't laugh or I will turn you into a frog.

My fairy of the forest hair pretties

Ive finished this outfit off with a  bag from Primark. Its like a vanity case and I love that its ballet shoe pink (is this a real colour? it is now) I think its meant to be used as a make up bag but I'm using it as a handbag because I'm a rebel.

My eyeshadow is from the MUA undressed  palette, my blush from the gold shimmer stack by MeMeMe and my lipstick is Papaya punch by Sleek.

Remember feeling good and looking great has nothing to do with dress size and everything to do with attitude.Never wait to be a certain weight to start enjoying clothes and never reject anything thinking it wont suit your shape. Try it on-you may be surprised.

Betty Pamper's July Faves

Can it be July already? perhaps its the terrible weather but its hard to believe we are supposedly slap bang in the middle of summer. It feels like its only just started here at BB Towers. Anyhoo here is a little round up of items that have been keeping me out of mischeif this month for your delectation.

Having trouble viewing this embeded clip-view on Youtube

And for those of you who can't view videos or just prefer a good read here are my July faves-the anologue version.

Leopard print rain poncho £5 Asda

is it a rather jaunty leopard print man bag? No its a rain poncho
I'm off on holiday in a matter of weeks and in Florida its the rainy season so when I saw my best mucca Lilli VP wearing a leopard print rain poncho on her holiday pics I knew I had to get my hands on one.
Lilly enjoying the glorious British summertime in her leopard print rain poncho

And while I was at Asda I also picked up a few other bits and pieces for my holiday. Gotta love a bit of George!

These rather fine Cath Kidson style flip flops which were £3

A "Snow leopard" print bow headband for £1.50

Some Hello Kitty Plasters, animal print hair clips and a leopard print hairbrush

Wicker handbag Primark £5

The bigger wicker bag
I featured a bigger version of this bag on an outfit post recently and I know a lot of you liked it.

The smaller wicker bag.
I also brought this smaller version at the same time as thought it would be perfect for taking on holiday. Its got room for a purse, phone and lippy-the essentials! Its super cute and reminds me of the little wicker baskets that come with china tea sets in for little girls.

Sleek Papaya Punch matte lipstick £4.99

Coral coloured lips
Ive already featured this lipstick on my blog but I couldn't have a July faves post without including it. I'm just loving Sleeks True Colour lipsticks so much. This coral shade is rarely off my lips.
Papaya Punch I heart you

Barry M Nail paint in Berry Ice Cream 308 £2.99

Berry Ice Cream

This is not just my favourite nail varnish of July I think its my fave of the summer. Its so long lasting (a full five days without a chip) and this lavender colour is just so pretty.
Barry M in Fifi the Fiat

Rimmel lasting finish in Pear Drop 703 £2.99

Another nail varnish that Ive added to my collection this month is this fab turquoise shade by rimmel. My only moan is that it isn't that long lasting which really matters when its such a strong colour but even so I am wearing it quite a lot.
Pearl drop by Rimmel

Cat ring-E-bay £4.99

Miaow
I brought this after seeing it on another blog called A sprinkle of glitter. Its like a cat ear shaped knuckle duster-I feel like a vicious cat assasain. The only problem is its tiny and only fits on my pinky. My mum brought one too as she is cat mad and says hers fits fine so I must have pudgy fingers.

MUA Bronzer £1
The more I use MUA products the more I like them. They are such good quality and pocket money prices. This month Ive brought this bronzer by them in shade 3. Its great for face contouring.
Rockin some MUA

MeMeME Shimmer Stack Gold  £9.98

Staying with all things bronzer Ive also been using this shimmer stack by MeMeMe a lot this month. I'm particularly likingthe palest shade as a highlighter. The other shades are also fab for adding shape and showing off those cheek bones.I can see why this is a best seller.
Loving the shimmer stack

I'm loving the Sookie Stackhouse novels at the moment. I'm a huge fans of all things vampire, werewolf and fairy so have been a fan of the True Blood series for ages but had never dipped into the books. They are absolutely brilliant, so much better than the TV show and I ahve to say in terms of Sookies relationships a lot more satisfying (I'm glad to see Eric the hunky Viking gets a lot more page time) As Ive come to these books so late there are loads of them to read so I'm having a gorgeous Vampfest at the moment. A very happy place to be indeed.
