Measured to fit swing dress: Red and white flowers

Today I'm off to work at the Vintage Pamperbox teaching a bevy of beauties how to channel their inner vintage vixen. I love this dress, it never fails to make me feel all kind of curvy girl fabulous.
I had it made by a lovely lady on ebay who created a few made to measure swing dresses for me and then disappeared as in a puff of smoke. I only know she existed because of the handful of lovely clothes she made which hang on my rail.

Getting made to measure is such a good idea if your proportions are more Russian doll than hourglass. Its often not as expensive as you would think, is an excellent way to support British creative types and more importantly guarentees you will get  something which fits you like a glove rather than a sack of potatoes.
I had this made for my best friends Lilly Von Pinks wedding and two years later its still one of my favourite dresses so was worth every penny.I'm wearing a cardigan which was originally by primark but which my friend Lena gave me. It matches the colour of the flowers on my dress really well and its quite big so Ive knotted it.

Ive curled my hair today and put in a lovely hair flower by a facebook boutique lady called Shanty Tramp (she is well worth checking out. She also makes little brooches that look like you if you send a pic, I have one but sadly its got my red hair on so I'm getting another made)

My shoes are the Iron fist ones I got from Dolly Mixture clothing. Regular readers of this blog will know how much I love these. I even dedicated a whole post to there loveliness.

It was rather windy when I took these pictures so I had a few Marilyn Monroe Seven Year itch moments.



My make up is pale foundation, strong brows, smoky eyeshadow by Collection 2000 with kohl by Dainty Doll,gel liner by Rimmel and a bright pink lipstick called Lilly also by Rimmel.

Remember feeling good and looking great has nothing to do with dress size and everything to do with attitude.Never wait to be a certain weight to start enjoying clothes and never reject anything thinking it wont suit your shape. Try it on-you may be surprised.
