I say yes to Horizontal stripes for curvy women

Ive never liked being told what to do and well meaning style advice which tells me ladies with big bangers or large bums shouldn't wear horizontal stripes gets right up my nose. Sure we all know that wearing head to toe black including jaunty balaclava might shave off  a few pounds but god its dull. Today I'm channelling some French chic with a black and white stripy top.I'm a plus sized fashion maverick, throwing convention to the wind. What next I hear you cry? A dress fashioned from spam.
On a less anarchic note I like that this sweater has a band of black at the bottom as it creates the illusion that my hips are thinner than they actually are. Ive coupled it with a pretty pink skirt, footless tights and ballet pumps. Sure it might not make my boobs look smaller but they aren't small-so what? Its not a disability or something to be ashamed of. To many (including my husband) its a joy.
Yes they are stripes, yes they are horizontal, yes I'm rocking them!

Ive worn a clip in fringe to further reinforce the Parisian vibe and have gone for a smoky eye, strong brows and a pale lipstick. I'm looking a little windswept as Ive just been on a rather blustery beach walk.

Remember feeling good and looking great has nothing to do with dress size and everything to do with attitude.

Never wait to be a certain weight to start enjoying clothes and never reject anything thinking it wont suit your shape. Try it on-you may be surprised.
