Yesterday I had such a fabulous dress related adventure. I need a new frock to wear in the "author" photo for my book and was delighted when the lovely Deborah Payne from Shameless originals offered to make me one.

The Divine Deborah Payne. Designer and all round creative whizz at Shameless Originals |
Ive been a fan of Deborah's designs for quite a while. She has a beautiful studio in the heart of Liverpool on Hope street and creates the most beautiful creations. From wedding dresses to party frocks her work is always fabulously tailored but with a quirky twist which really sets it apart. Her eye for fabrics is just amazing and she really understands how to make "real women" feel like vintage inspired goddesses.

Her 1950's inspired swing dresses are simply scrumptious and its one of these which Deborah will be creating for me.

Bursting at the seams with creative ideas |
Over tea and cake (this is a lady who knows how to look after her clients) we chatted about styles and influences and I looked at the beautiful dresses and fabric which fill her studio.

From mood boards to magazines her studio just brims with creativity and examples of her lovely work are dotted all around the place.
Ive now been measured from top to toe, discussed sleeve and hem lengths, even the type of underwear I will be wearing underneath so that the finished dress fits like a glove.

I adore this tea dress
Ive got my first fitting in two weeks and can't wait. Is there anything more indulgent than having something made to measure?I don't think so.I will keep you posted on how the finished dress looks. I already know I am going to LOVE it.
