This weekend its my birthday.I am taking my inspiration from the "bolter" character in Nancy Mitford's "Love in a cold climate" and flying off abroad rather than face it.

I intend to celebrate Joan Collins style sitting by a pool in an over sized floppy hat and sunglasses sipping a cocktail.

I will be channelling Dame Joan as I toast another year

I have planned a night of Indian food and champers with my lovey friends upon my return with the warning that anyone who brings out a cake with the correct amount of candles on will be jabbed with an eye pencil.
So I'm off to pack and to paraphrase one of my favourite songs Hello Dolly "still glowin', still crowin' still goin' strong.
