Today I'm making a start on my Christmas baking. I'm having a little Christmas gathering next weekend so plan to make some mince pies, chutneys, flans and sausage rolls which can all be frozen until next week, leaving me able to enjoy my party without getting all hot and sweaty from too much time in front of the oven.
Baking at the weekend is such bliss. No rushing, no having to stop what you are doing to work, go on the school run or worrying about the time. Just hours of measuring, mixing and cooking. Filling the house with yummy smells and your cupboards with delicious food.
What to make first?
Not the most rock n roll way to spend a Saturday but very good for the soul.
