Bettys Five For Friday

A round up of whats been tickling my fancy at Betty Towers this week.

#1 Miss Piggy For Mac
Its all about the eyeliner

Ive always had a soft spot for Miss Piggy from the Muppet's. I think as a little girl I just loved her hair and the way she terrified that sappy frog Kermit. So its very entertaining that Miss Piggy has just been named as the new face of Mac make up.
Work it Miss P
Those eyes, that hair, that snout
She also gets a spread in In-Style magazine modelling a variety of designer dresses. Totally surreal and very entertaining.

#2 Soap and Glory launches A Full Cosmetics Line
And whilst we are on beauty-exciting news from Soap and Glory this week. They have launched a fantastic new make up line.

Riding a giant lipstick-every girls dream
I love Soap and Glory products not least because the packaging is so retrotastic.
As you would expect all the cosmetics are called quirky names-my favourite is the Kick Ass concealer. I'm hoping it will kick the ass out of my under eye bags.
I so need this at the moment
One product which looks particularly good is the Supercat eyeliner pen. I'm due to get a new eyeliner so think I will put this one through its paces and let you know how it performs.

I have asked for Soap and Glory products every Christmas and this year looks to be no different.

#3 Elvis and us Exhibition-The Beatles Story Liverpool
Exciting news for Merseysiders and Elvis fans this week. A new exhibition has opened at the Beatles Story in the Albert Dock.

The jointly curated exhibition promises to explore how the Fab Four were influenced by Elvis as well as displaying some Elvis memorabilia which has never been out of Graceland. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon-don't forget your quiff!

#New 4 Lulu Guinness handbag Love
I have a big crush on this new bag by Lulu Guinness.
Oh Wanda-Come to me my preety
Its called the Confetti Print Small Bow Wanda and it would look just perfect with my winter coat. It is £325 so a little out of my budget but a girl can dream.

#3 Simple Times. Crafts For Poor People
The title and blurb for this book made me laugh out loud.

Due out in November author Amy Sedaris promises to  delivers a new book that will forever change the world of crafting. As a craft nerd I'm quite happy to laugh at myself and this full on skit of hobbyists will definitely be on my Amazon wish list.
Amy Sedaris
According to Amy Sedaris, it's often been said that ugly people craft and attractive people have sex. In her new book, SIMPLE TIMES, she sets the record straight. Sedaris shows that anyone with a couple of hours to kill and access to pipe cleaners can join the elite society of crafters.
"You will discover how to make popular crafts, such as: crab-claw roach clips, tinfoil balls, and crepe-paper moccasins, and learn how to: get inspired (Spend time at a Renaissance Fair; Buy fruit, let it get old, and see what shapes it turns into)PLUS whole chapters full of more crafting ideas (Pompom Ringworms! Seashell Toilet Seat Covers!) that will inspire you to create your own hastily constructed obscure d'arts; and much, much more!"
Love it-I'm off to make a sea shell toilet seat-have a great weekend!
