Pink Cake recipe

This is my little girls favourite cake and its so easy to make.
Its a Buttermilk cake using 250gm plain flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 200ml buttermilk 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 200gm caster sugar & 3 large eggs. bake for 45 Min's at 180/gas mark 4

Ready for filing
Fill the middle with butter icing 300gm butter,700gm icing sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract & 2 tablespoons of milk

Add butter icing
Cover with icing-I've just used a bit of Royal icing I had left over but just an icing glaze using icing sugar works a treat-this cake can take a lot of icing though so better for heavily decorated cakes than a normal sponge

Cover with icing

Colour pink and cover with pink & purple hearts and pink hundreds and thousands

Bright Pink-Perfect for a five year old

There you have it. A perfect pink cake for a little girl.

Thanks Mummy
